Ketsui is HELL. It even has hell in the title (jigoku)!

I agree that ESPGaluda isn't too bad up until the final boss (for a Cave game anyway), but I haven't 1CCed it yet just because of the #$!&* final boss. :x

My first Cave 1CC was Dodonpachi, but I think Mushi on ordinary is a bit easier than that, simply because the first few levels are so light on bullets. DDP ramps up more quickly than Mushi and is a level longer.

So yeah, ESPGaluda or Mushi.

Before I said Galuda is the easiest, but I played it and DDP again last night and I'm having second thoughts. I just never seem to get all that comfortable with the weapon system in Galuda. I much prefer the straightforward set up in DDP. I can get to level 3, as in most shmups, but when I die an untimely death in Galuda, it doesn't always strike me: "Ah, ok, next time do this other thing." I just don't find myself making steady progress the way I do in many other games. I've been experimenting with different play styles, but nothing is making a huge difference. Maybe I need more patience, or maybe this just isn't the right game for me.

It can't be possible "to 1cc first loop of DoDonpachi with 26608910 as score."

Is it?

Play through while blowing everything up without regard for combos. It's possible.
Blow up self to involve enemies.

He said easiest Cave game. Nobody said Uo Poko? ;-) Least difficult shooter is the original DonPachi I think. It wasn't easy when it came out, but now we've all been battered and bruised by the likes of DOJ, going back to DP is a mellower experience.

For some reason I find it the opposite. I have done better on DDP or even DOJ than on the original Pachi. AFAIR, DP does have a few faster bullets than its sequels.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

But how's the hitbox? I find playing those older games is an act of futility for me at this point. If the hit box is more than something like 4x4 pixels, I suck.

It's not as large as on, say, Toaplan's stuff. I find both DP games a breeze up until the furth rounds. Then I'm toast. One day those first loops will fall to me...

Yup, once you hit stage 4's boss in donpachi things get way harder than anything in the DDP first loop. IMO donpachi lulls player into thinking it's easy with a rather pedestrian first few levels and then starts jacking up the difficulty at a startling rate.

Well, DP has small hitboxes, but they should be slightly bigger than DDP. I think that Batsugun has the DDP-like hitbox, it seems like they used a slightly bigger hitbox for this title only. Still in the "small" range, though.

Beside that, DP has a decisive increase of difficulty in stage 4, but that's where the game becomes "Tatsujin with chains": they probably decided to make it this way...still, i think anyone with some practice and no taboos on bombs can 1-cc it.

Sorry if it has already been mentioned, but where is ESPRade in all of this? Does anyone consider this this be one of the easier Cave titles (once the subway stage is beaten)? The only part of the game that gets me is the subway part; even the parts after it aren't too bad. As for Ketsui, I agree that it is one hell of a difficult game. Fun as hell, though! ProGear is definitely easier than Ketsui with enough practice; it takes some time to get used to. Don't know too much about Mushihime Sama yet, and I haven't played the original DDP enough, so I can't comment on those two.

DDPDOJ is both awesome and difficult. I can usually get to about the end of stage 4 before getting my ass kicked, but I know I'd be able to do better if I had access to the game more often. To me, DonPachi, Guwange, and Dangun Feveron are nowhere near as hard as DDPDOJ and/or DDPDOJ Black Label, and Ketsui. DDPDOJ Black Label and Ketsui have kicked my ass many times...

I'm by far no expert, and have only 1CCed ESPGaluda (and played very little of DDP) but I would group them as follows.

Hard as nails:
DOJ, Ketsui

Challenging, but do-able:
Progear, Guwange, ESPRade

Easy by Cave standards, but still difficult:
ESPGaluda
Mushihime-sama

I've gotten to the last stage on 1 credit on all the games except Guwange which I've just bought. Then again, the last stage is usually hell.
