It really happened, JDE was there, he saw it. I got to stage 4 on DOJ for the first time as well.

I'm kind of worried that the shmup gods took pity on me and decided to give me just one day of glory - I also reached the last boss in Espgaluda for the first time this morning - and I will never be able do anything like this again.

Good work hzt!

You know - we should have some kind of Casino-specific high score board somewhere (maybe here - maybe just a piece of paper on the side of a cab). It would be nice if we had a way of compiling and comparing Team Casino's scores.

And don't worry about my job hzt. For every cool bit there's a dull bit or an insanely stressy bit. It's certainly not all glamour and travel!

Casino Arcade is right in the Congestion Charging Zone, but the charge isn't in effect after 6PM:
http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/roadusers/con ... reandwhen/

The weekly meet generally starts around 7PM, so there's no need to worry about the charge unless you arrive very early! On the other hand, trying to find a parking spot near the arcade is a nightmare, so getting the train might be a good idea anyway.

And welcome, Salahithe1 and Neith! It looks like the arcade is getting more popular, and it'd be great to meet you two if you can come along one Tuesday evening. :)

Yeah - train will be less stressful for sure.

I've got an important question. When is His Royal Highness CHI back in town?

Thanks guys, I've never actually met anyone who likes these games. I'm a student so I'm occasionally busy but I'll try to show up on a tuesday soon.

How much is each credit at this place?

It's £1 for 3 credits, or nothing; you can't buy just one credit. Which is generous, but sometimes annoying if you only want one or two goes. Much better than being charged £1 per credit like in most of the other London arcades though.

£1 for 3 credits is very reasonable. I expected it to be £1 per credit.

I was wondering what influences the shmups the arcade gets? Is it based on individuals lending them or the owner(s) of the arcade buying them based on customer feedback?

You mean Casino?

When it comes to shmups they're all our boards mainly. Spadgy is Casino's biggest patron with usually 2 of his own games in there at any one time.

I'll leave Cambridge on Friday after two stressful weeks (because of my job).

I was wondering if it was a good idea to go the Casino Arcade middays (I guess between 10 am and 2 pm) for some hours before I have to go to the airport and fly back to Germany.
I've never been there, so I have no idea about the opening hours.

Thanks!

Cheers,
Benjamin

I'm not sure what the opening hours are - you should be ok at 12, though it'll probably be empty around that time.

I'm going to start heading down later on tuesdays, as most of the time I'm spent before everyone arrives - I only want to have my ass kicked so many times before I lose the will to live. I made it to the last boss again and completely crumbled (entered my initials wrongly - duh). I have no clue what to do with it.

Atleast I got some tips on Mr. Do! last night though :D

See you all next week.

It's definitely open around midday, I know this because I'm usually in there eating my lunch between credits.

Well that solves the mystery of the unknown player at the top of the scoreboard last night.

Ok, thanks. I should take this opportunity, as I have no idea when I can go there again.

Well, I'm the short haired guy with glasses, red suitcase and the blue checkered jacket.
I would be glad to meet some other players. :D

Word up!

I'm back in the UK after my week in San Francisco (where I squeezed in a single credit on Razing Storm and that was it for arcades).

Shame I missed your visit Fußschmand; always nice to have a visitor from further afield!

So - this Tuesday (tomorrow). Now; the lovely Mrs. Spadgy has invited some of the other youthful members of her family over for Pancake Day, so I should really catch up with the cousins.

However, I understand I've been crap at making Tuesdays, but I thought I'd ask - can anybody do Wednesday or Thursday?

No worries if not! I could make a fleeting visit on Tuesday, and a proper visit another day.

I've just been so unlucky with timing on Tuesdays these past few weeks...

Hello all,

I'd just like to add:

I used to live around the South East and would visit the Casino Arcade as often as I could.
However, I would really like to know why tatsujin 2 (a personal favourite) and dogyuun are no longer in residence. Both were replaced by lesser titles.

Would it be possible for you to add these back some time please?

I now live in Germany, but the moment I am back in London, I will be down.

Keep it real Shmuppers! :D
