Strikers 1945 II & III + Mame - Slowdown?

Post by jgossin »

Unfortunetly I'm using MAME to play both of these great games...

I'm not sure if its just my computer or if slowdown was inherrent to the actual arcade version but whenver it starts to get semi-manic with bullets and several enemies on screen the game will slowdown quit a bit.

I know there are issues with the video emulation in MAME for these games at the moment, so I don't know if that could be the reason, but anyways here's my computer specs, tell me what you think.

Dell Inspiron notebook
1.5 GHz
512 MB ram
ATI Radeon X300 64 MB VRAM
Win XP Home edition and MAME32 for Windows

Perhaps there are even some MAME settings I could tweak. What are some good default setups you guys would recommend for me to use?

Thanks for any help.

1.5 Ghz is kinda slow.

Go to Properties, Sound, and uncheck "enable sound and sound CPUs."

If this gets rid of your slowdown then it's your computer. Disabling sound will free up more of your CPU for the game if your CPU isn't fast enough.
SHOOT IT QUICKLY !

If I play on my 1.6Ghz laptop, it gets some slowdown as well.

On my AMD 3200+ it plays at full speed.
