Endorsement for YesAsia?

Post by CMoon »

OK, I see that YesAsia is selling a lot of games for cheaper than PlayAsia and NCSX. I saw a few people recommending this seller, but have no experience with them. With Raiden III around the corner, it would be nice to hear if people whole-heartedly recommend YesAsia.

Just a warning... although they have a policy that they don't sell bootlegs, I've seen a few slip through from time to time. However, as soon as it was brought to their attention they removed them each time.

Aside from that, they're extremely good.

That even happened to me with Play-Asia when I ordered Beatmania GB. The box and inserts looked real, but the actual game was a gray cartridge that had the word "Game" on the front instead of "Nintendo Game Boy" and a regular screw instead of the special one on the back of the game. However, Play-Asia was very nice about arranging a refend and even refunded the shipping that was paid for ordering the game. It's not the company's fault and the best thing to do in case you do get a bootleg is contact the company.

Apparantly, most of the Beatmania GBs were the real deal, but I was unlucky enough to get what was probably someone's lame attempt to rip off the store Play-Asia got the game from.

I used YesAsia once for Puyo Puyo Fever GBA and I was very pleased with the transaction.

I've used YesAsia in the past, but not for games. I shipped them home while I was at school, so I wouldn't know if they ship in timely fashion. However, there is no reason to believe otherwise, since it seems everyone that ordered Mushi from them received their copies quickly.

I don't think I'll be ordering any more import games anytime soon, but I think this may just be the very last order I place with Play-Asia. I opted not to cancel my preorder with them in favor of YesAsia because I wanted to support a dedicated import game site and because they were the ones that broke the news about the Mushi port, but they really let me down. :(

I bought a music CD from them and was pleased with the transaction.

I guess when Raiden III comes a bit closer, I'll give 'em a try with video games.

Good topic, CMoon.

I'm thinking I'll have to give YesAsia a go some time in the near future. I'll probably start off with something cheap, just to test the waters, like I did with PA back in the day.

I use them all the time - the shipping is not the fastest in the world, but it's free, reliable and you never pay any import duty.

The last item I got from them was two white PS2 memory cards and they came in about a week.

And a shameless plug for the stuff I'm selling on eBay, if you're into that sort of thing.

How did PlayAsia let you down? I'm just curious. I do know they are charging more than YesAsia, but the shipping really isn't there fault. I know mine went out the day it came out, and it is stuck in customs somewhere (not PlayAsia's fault). Of course, PA could be lying, and are really waiting for a restock. Is there some other way they let you down?

This thought had entered my mind. Claiming it has already shipped prevents you from cancelling your order and taking your custom elsewhere, plus they can technically get it to you within 4 weeks before you can seriously question the wait. But whatever, it's not been 15 days yet so we'll see, but I will certainly be looking for the date it shipped on the package when it arrives...

One cool thing about YesAsia is that some of their games ship with Japanese magazines.

My preordered mushi just arrived from yesasia. The free shipping is obviously slow but I'd order from them again in the future.

*grumble* My copy of Mushi STILL hasn't shown up. I realise that by now one of you probably would have gotten up in a bell tower and started sniping people; but I'm being calm. A lot of things can happen to a package shipped airmail. Technically, one should wait a month before even getting concerned. That, and I've had so much else to do it hasn't been a real concern, but yeah, it is on my mind.

I really like playasia, but if Yesasia is in the US, I may indeed use them next time, since everytime you ship something air you ARE taking a gamble.

I just ordered a batch of 4 games from YesAsia (and handily bankrupted myself in the process)...according to their estimates, the stuff won't arrive until near the end of this month, since I went for the free shipping option. I don't mind too much, since I'm not in any huge rush, but if nothing else anyone here who hasn't gotten their games yet should definitely whip up an email if their stuff hasn't arrived before mine gets here, heh heh. ;)

That's pretty funny, considering I live in Austin (and once dated a girl whose mom barely missed being killed by Charles Whitman). That sucks, man. I'm sorry to hear that you haven't received yours yet.

I've noticed that a lot of what's on YesAsia's site is actually the same price (or higher) than PlayAsia's prices (even considering the free shipping option).

I'm definitely tempted to preorder Raiden III from YA, though...

Since I involved everyone, I might as well announce the damn thing finally showed up. What did that take, like 3 weeks???

Now its time to figure out what is up with this full auto nonsense.
