Really? Does either of you have a shelter ready or is currently building one? Knowing what to do in theory is different than having everything you need when the time comes. Even if it's something that will happen eventually and many people know that, very few people truly takes it seriously enough to make the necessary precautions.

As a side note, The Zombie Survival Guide mentions many of the details moozooh wrote and a bunch more. While it's more focused toward a zombie apocalypse, much of it is explaining how to survive in a world with few resources available. An interesting read.

Obviously I'm not building any bunkers… yet. :D
Ruldra wrote:Q: What's the most stupid/hilarious/retarded thing you've done while drunk?
A: Running around in a forest, masturbating off a bridge, then jumping off said bridge (it was around 1.5 meters high), all the while being naked, and accompanied by four more idiots doing the same thing. That took 8 shots of absinthe and, surprisingly, we were all perfectly lucid throughout. Almost feels like all the absinthe was just an excuse.

Q: Recommend me a good videogame-inspired movie (not an adaptation like Tomb Raider, and not a documentary like King of Kong). I've already seen Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and it was pretty great.

(I finally got Live btw... taking a while to cut my teeth though).

Also feeling very, VERY unprepared for the impending apocalypse as I live in one of the most densely populated areas of the planet, and my tool box contains a screwdriver and a credit card.

No, the thread goes on, and my original question stands because Resident Evil is an adaptation. ;)

Aside from the previously named Scott Pilgrim, there's also Grandma's Boy, but it's rather average.

If there's really nothing else like that out there, then at least recommend me a good non-stop-fun action/comedy movie that isn't Shoot 'Em Up.

A: Inspirational as in: it inspired me? Maybe Salamander/Life Force since it was my first shooting game and since it was so good it inspired me to play more games in the genre, specifically ones by Konami.

A: I'll do this: Meals on Wheels, aka Spartan X (the name of Kung Fu/Master as it was released in Japan) and a ton of other names. Kinda counts. It's less of a "licensed game" than most licensed games, anyway.

Alternatively there's the actual movie "Kung Fu Master!" (also known as Le Petit Amour), to which all I can say is "Do all women fall in love with a boy, or just those without sons?". Yes, it is also related to the game, and probably fits your original question better than the above.

A: I'll do this, and the original question: Space Invaders.

Seriously though (actually I'm not kidding but whatever, Space Invaders is too obvious), Gradius and R-Type. I believe they both have (had) an equal impact on video game developers (and players) at large and the enduring popularity continues to this day. I think Gradius might have a slight edge but only due to the amount of related games and merchandise that has been produced versus R-Type. I believe that the NES Gradius is what really got to people, despite being one of the less interesting ports of the game (this is no Contra); I believe the SNES R-Types are what got to people, perhaps Super R-Type moreso.

Also I'm putting out Salamander because it's a vert and a hori and because quite a few people turn to that game. I know IKD and YGW both did.

A: Almost got expelled from the university I was doing a study abroad at in Tokyo. Short story long, I snuck into my girlfriend's girls-only dorm a million times and finally got caught towards the end of the year. Some cock-blocking gas station attendant saw me scrambling out of the bushes and started screaming dorobo. All of the school administration people were pissed and were getting ready to send me home, then we had a meeting with the president of the university. He laughed and said stuff about young love and all of that and sent us on our way.

I got "grounded" for the first time in my life and had to clean the boys showers in my dorm. I was so traumatized by the whole ordeal that I got pretty sick a few days later just from the stress on my nerves.

Best part of the story was the neighbors next to the girls dorm had a fence that I used to scramble over that had some sensor on it. They posted a warning about no trespassing after the first dozen times, then finally a more threatening sign that had a fishes head on a stick.

during a static shock one person usually feels more pain than the other, the one being shocked, obviously. which person has which charge i.e. + and - being the shocker and the shockee?

A: I honestly don't buy the one person feeling more pain than the other. If it is a similar part of the body, i.e. finger to finger, both people should experience relatively the same amount of pain (whereas finger to earlobe would have significantly different effects :D).

As far as who has which charge, it's very circumstantial. If I'm shuffling my feet on the carpet (teehee) I'm building up a negative charge (I'm stealing electrons from the carpet). When I touch someone/something else with a lower electrical potential (less electrons) the spark will jump from me to the other person/object. It is also entirely possible for me to shuffle my feet on the carpet and then have someone else with an even higher electrical potential touch me and the spark jumps to me because I had the lower potential of the two bodies.

Q: For those of you married folks, do you still court your wife? I mean, you probably worked hard to gain your wife's affection while dating, right? Do you still put out effort to do sweet/surprising things for her?

A: I did many. Picking up an iguana in Mexico is memorable b/c I have the scar where it bit me and I got stitches. Definitely the best for the story was when we were out throwing water balloons at cards (at night). I threw one at an oncoming car (which was at the time, just a pair of head lights). Of course, it turned out to be a cop car. I spent the night in jail. They charged me w/ a felony but they were totally trying to fuck me. It went down to a misdemeanor.

phpBB3. Never configured phpBB2, but 3 was a breeze to install, configure, customize code for. VBulletin is annoying and expensive. I'll gladly take well supported FOSS over commercial implementations that only seem to offer more features (CMS) that I don't need.
