An Axelay GBA port would be nice.
Don't know how well it would have looked though on that low 240x160 resolution.

I'm playing Phalanx now. Massive action and very nice powerups like hp power up wich upgrade our bomb resources on max

Guns are cool too. Guns take a role of super weapons. If you press R you select the super weapon to shoting. If you press L your weapon disaphear but you see a nice demolition like rotating machine guns, or super shield depending wich weapon you use as mega attack. Very massive demolition and bosses and enemies are constructed from little parts we see how theY lost their hands, shields, guns - not a shitty one-body bosses like in Metal Slug Advace. There a bosses from many parts like first boss. You can shot his hands first and then destroy his body.

I think cool shmup.

It's so disappointing that GBA got cut off before it really lived out a full generation - was so nice to get another 16-bit(ish) system. Gradius Galaxies is the 3rd best Gradius game, doesn't get enough recognition.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.

Active development went from 2001 to 2006, and technically it's not even discontinued.

I really don't care if Spongebob Squarepants Mystery Date was released in 2006, that's just trivia - it's actual lifespan was prematurely cut short. It had another year of quality titles at least but the DS/PSP ate it up.

Iridion II has absolutely fantastic music, really its standout feature. And the graphics are really impressive as well - the background are short looping sequences that create the impression of fully rendered backdrops. It has this slight tilt going on, which I usually hate, but I´ve grown to enjoy it here actually. It has a lot of distinctive levels, and while it´s not really challenging it´s at least nice to have it in your collection.

Gradius Galaxies is quite fun as well.

But nevertheless, I would have KILLED for a proper bullet hell shmup on the go, not just bad ports and euroshmups.
This video broke my heart.

For the record, Mother 3 is a much better game to single out!

The GBA isn't dead but it isn't alive, either. It's not quite the Dreamcast, though; Nintendo swears that the DS is not meant to replace the Game Boy series, so basically GB is stuck in some limbo until DS is done. What exactly is "Game Boy" to them, I'd like to know.

Did anyone mention Gunstar Future Heroes? There were some shmup sections in it and contrary to what everyone seems to say I found it to be pretty darn good.
