tinotormed's Philippine super-playlist shack

Post by tinotormed »

EDIT: Edited the title for the 4th time, this time by request.

I know, there aren't many people in our country that are playing this genre because they are more interested in newer technology, newer games, RPGs, etc. However, ever since I discovered YouTube and every recording tool for my video games, my quest for glory begins as I am about to make a stand to make my country proud as one of the best Filipino shmupper. And I note that you do not need to be the best in shmupping to earn some skills, and I truly like that style. As of now, here shows some of my personal bests in every shmup genre (some are 1LCs, others are 1CCs, many are very high scores, nearly meeting every target goal), and their playlists are live on YouTube:

Magical Chase (3 million pts):

Coryoon (76 million pts):

I think Alluro/JudgeSpear is also Filipino. 'Pretty sure he still hangs in the developer's forum with the new Xeno Fighters.

Last time I went to the Philippines was a year and a half ago, in June/July 2009.

All of the properly-functioning arcades (TimeZone, etc.) had little variety - same games over and over, no shmups.
All of the arcades with shmups were broken in some way or another.

Which is sad because I remember coming 9 years ago (before I got really into shmups) and there were shmups everywhere. I fondly remember one arcade having Aero Fighters 2 in a 2-cabinet setup.

Also it appears that the life of a Filipino Shmupper is pretty much the same Shmupping Life of mostly everyone else here, so grats for posting a thread about yourself for no reason (?)

Captpain,

I understand what your saying but I am sure its up to the people here to contribute in any way they see fit (within the rules obviously). I am sure he is very proud of his accomplishments and just wanted to share. In some countries even getting an education is cause to celebrate.

By posting a thread full of youtube links to his fairly unremarkable, sometimes borderline-acceptable shmup achievements? We already have a youtube thread, see if they get recognition there.

Well now you mention it I see your point it should have gone in the youtube thread. Sometimes your first offensive is very much a negative one though and you could be just a tad more polite about it. All I am saying is you could be a bit more nice sometimes. I know you won't get brownie points for it.

Wow, is it really *that* much effort not to be a complete dick? You spend hours on shmups; try spending some time on learning some fucking manners.

lmao, sometimes people will say things that are unpleasant but entirely true. Or should we lower our standards for no other reason than providing people who'd take serious offense at internet marginalization some undeserved encouragement? No thanks, I'm going to say what I think honestly.

Protip: It's all about video games, and I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings. It's true, and it's silly to pretend otherwise.

Don't you mean Captain pain?

I think Captain was a bit out of order. But for the benefit of the doubt he probably had a bad day and reacted accordingly.

edit- Well he is not sorry. Still having a bad day then.

Seems like you're misconstruing my unwillingness to accept unnecessary threads full of content best posted elsewhere with the expectation of congratulations, interest, and other forms of positive reinforcement as some kind of effort to hurt someone's feelings. If my mission was to hurt someone's feelings, I'd do it directly. I don't know if mockery of content is the same thing as direct aggression. Oh well.

Just report it to a moderator next time then. I've no grounds to judge you on your opinion of the thread but if a moderator agrees with you and deletes it, for the greater good no?

So do it politely then, instead of being snarky? Or

The only thing that needs to be posted elsewhere are your comments.

So please people:
Watch the flippin' videos, optionally say what you think about them.
If you don't care about youtube videos posted by a member of this community then please move the fuck on to another topic!

If I am declaring war on the Philippines by my comments then so be it. Sorry for starting WWIII... Who knew it would happen at shmups forum?

Anyway I am going to move on to another topic so I'm sorry if I bothered all of you easily-offended scrubs, enjoy your feigned affability.
