Very nice Sapz, I seem to be doing similar if not identical pathfinding to you, but my accuracy on a gamepad is pretty poor. So more often than not, I get that feeling like I should have been able to make it but didn't. And it's mostly the ship-control feel I get with an arcade stick.Sapz wrote:Here's my 1cc of Unlimited with Type Z.Hope you guys enjoy it.

Take note, this is just me.. Some people could probably 1CC this on a keyboard, haha.

Well played Sapz! You have great talent with shmups.

Re: Crimzon Clover
I was able to get the demo running on my MacBook using "darwine", which is a wine package. It would only run in a tiny window, and I could not use my stick. However, it ran perfectly as far as framerate and stuff goes. That gives me hope. But it also runs when I boot into windows, It's just kind of a pain to do that. I'm going to have to get this game.
If anyone has more experience running windows games on OSX (I purchased my copy of Vista legally, so I don't think I'm talking about anything illegal, please correct me if I'm wrong...), I would appreciate any help.
EDIT: Bought it, and glad I did. This game is pretty amazing. I am able to use my HRAP 3 on it, which removed the weird "lag" I was getting with my pad. Bought it from Rancor, of course.

It varies. "Simple" mode is quite easy. I made it to the 4th level boss the first time I played it. "Original" mode is just right for me - it starts getting fairly difficult around level 3, and "ultimate" is straight-up ridiculous hard from level 1. On my in-game timer I've put in a few minutes over an hour into it. I think I'll make it to level 5 (final level) in my next few play throughs, and I'm not a fantastic shmup player by any means.DragonInstall wrote:Just curious as how hard is this game?

Re: Crimzon Clover
I browsed through the older pages in this thread but didn't see anything, so... Is there any way to unlock stage select in the .20 demo? I've been playing this while I wait for my retail version to arrive in the mail. The only shop options I have are the credits for 10k and unlimited mode for 300k. All the others are ???????.
Can someone tell me how to unlock the other options (if it's even possible) and whether or not I can unlock stage select? Thanks!
Edit: One more question -- I'm playing on a 16:9 monitor now, and I can't get the resolution to match my old pc. The second option stretches all the way across the screen. The third option is closer, but is still a little too wide (it only puts a black bar down the right side). Sorry if this has been answered before.

Which is an accurate literal translation of that sentence (the subtext is that both festivals and Unlimited Mode are heavy on the fireworks)mjclark wrote:Thanks- I'd love to see an english translation of the manual but I guess that's the moon on a stick.

Considering people are reporting things the online manual says as HOT! NEW! information I might have to bang out a quick translation of it for the strategy section

Oh my, no. Unlimited mode and extra credits are the only unlockables in 0.20. A lot has changed since the trial anyway, so you might as well wait for your copy to arriveAnesthetize wrote:I browsed through the older pages in this thread but didn't see anything, so... Thanks. Hopefully it'll only be about a week more before I get my copy, so it's not a big deal.nZero wrote:Oh my, no. Unlimited mode and extra credits are the only unlockables in 0.20. My best option for resolution right now seems to be using windowed mode and stretching it diagonally. At least it's the correct aspect ratio that way.

There needs to be some way to practice the TLBs. I am having so much trouble with the final boss that it's hard to get to the TLB with enough lives in stock to think of taking it down.
Re: Crimzon Clover
Here's my current Unlimited stage 1 strategy with Type I, in case it helps any of you guys. 661 oku by the end of the stage.

Re: Crimzon Clover
It's just the manual that comes with the game with English text by the way.Animaitor wrote:nZero, thank you so much for the write up. Very professional with images and all. Will definitely help a lot of people, me included. Can't wait to get the game!!

So when you get the game you can replace the manual .html file with this one.
And thanks nZero!

Re: Crimzon Clover
Thanks a lot. *sigh* If you are able to understand japanese, you definetely have an advantage with officially released games, e.g. Crimzon Clover, Mushihimesama Futari etc. etc., as basic mechanics of the game(modes) are explained and you don't have to find out for yourself.nZero wrote:OK enjoy. Really apreciate the translation.
On a sidenote: come to think of it, are there translatiosn for released cave games? It would be nice being able reading my futari and esp II manuals

How do you purchase this game?
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

You can either ask Rancor - and order it from his online-shop, linked in his signature...neorichieb1971 wrote:How do you purchase this game?
Or you can buy a flight, fly over to Tokyo, head into one of those fancy doujin-software shops those japanese Nerds go crazy about and purchase it there.

Yes! I still have many available and am shipping as often as I can..
There have been many holidays here in Japan lately and the post office has been closed, but I'm getting orders out as quick as I can! Usually within 2-3 days of your order. Let me know if you need anything else!

Re: Crimzon Clover
I combed the thread again, but I (think I) haven't found any confirmed information about how to get the Type-Z Ship.
What I undestood up to now how to get type z:
- nothing, really.

I *think* you have to 1cc the game, and it doesn't matter whether it's original or simple mode? And you have to destroy both TLB?
Come on, you wise people out there, by now somebody HAS to have it figured out how to get this abomination of a ship.

Re: Crimzon Clover
Really? That simple? So to recap: You bought Type-II and the option to buy Type-Z for 300000 appeared in the shop?gs68 wrote:For me, all I did was buy Type-II and Type-Z went on for sale in the shop.
Have to take a look back at home, because yesterday, I bought the Type-II ship.
Edit: on an unrelated note: I just sent yotsubane an email asking him (in English, I hope he can read it or has somebody who can translate it to him...) whether he's ever considered the "digital distribution" way, e.g. offering his game on steam or on his own homepage for download. And I told him that he has quite a few fans in the west.

Well that certainly didn't happen round here.gs68 wrote:For me, all I did was buy Type-II and Type-Z went on for sale in the shop.
Everything I've read suggests you have to 1cc up to 2nd Ex Boss in Simple for Type-Z to go on sale but you'd need that confirmed by someone who's actually done it lol

I'll try to do that, although my shmup-fu isn't the best and it could take me a while to actually get there...mjclark wrote:Well that certainly didn't happen round here.gs68 wrote:For me, all I did was buy Type-II and Type-Z went on for sale in the shop.
