It does it on the standard 360 controller too. It's not like I absolutely have to do it but it's how I play the game, and it works for me.
Also, pardon me if I don't get it, but why do you press fire, rapidfire, hyper, and boost switch all at the same time?
What I usually do is this, Stage 1 for example: Always hold autofire (1), switch to boost, (which leads into) grab the hyper, and press shot, hyper and change (required within hyper) at the same time. This allows me to switch back to normal mode, activate the hyper, and change from autofire to laser all at the same time. It works, or at least, it should work.
This process actually cuts out the complication of juggling normal/boost.

@Taylor: Isn't Power style significantly more useful in 1.5 because it's easier to obtain hypers with? The current top replay and most top replays are also power style. I'm pretty sure power style also has the highest score on the dvd, as well.

Power style indeed has a scoring advantage:
1) hyper regenerates pretty much instantly — no green bee required — so you can start a new one exactly when it's needed;
2) best chaining capabilities (unlike Strong which is way too prone to wiping out the entire screen in an instant);
3) can milk bosses for eternity in normal mode.

That being said, high scores (over 0.6 trillion) are attainable with other styles with no boss milking, but you have to be really good with chaining and timing hypers to come even close. If you can't consistently get into the 2nd loop with Power style you might want to try other styles first, as later stages provide higher scores.

The styles are ranked individually, though? I've never seen anyone complain about Power before.

I'm sorry to ask this. I've looked at the original post and have also scanned through replies/searched the thread but I'm not sure of a definite answer.

so theres DDP DFK 1.5
some copies come with the DDP DFK 1.51 DLC card

then in february DDP DFK BL comes out (disc release). That includes the modes found in 1.5, 1.51, plus an additional mode (which is what I'm assuming due to the OP stating: "Includes DLC and Ketsui-like Arrange mode")? or is it something completely separate/just another addition to the 1.5/1.51 modes? Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me why this would be cheaper than 1.5 unless it's like an early release of a platinum version or something.

The Feb release includes exactly none of the currently released 360 content.

And this stops power having a massive advantage how?

I wasn't even aware people paid any attention to individual leaderboards.

I think it's pretty reasonable to pay attention to individual leaderboards if one style has a massive advantage!

How can anything have an advantage when it’s only being compared to itself?

Yes, if Power, Strong and Bomb scores were all combined into one table Power would have a huge advantage and Bomb would be all but pointless. However, despite your claim the contrary, this is why nobody actually combines all the scores into one table. In fact not only are scores split by Style they are usually split by Style and Ship, just as they are in the PCB leaderboards, this forum, and world records. The only combined leaderboard I can think of is XBLA, but that still ranks by Style and Ship as well.

I looked everywhere but I couldn't find an answer...

How do you retrieve the 1.51 DLC? I have the card, but I don't know where to put in the numbers.

This is like saying Mushi Maniac players have a score advantage over Mushi Original players. They're completely different interpretations of the same game, and thus necessitate separate score boards, which the PCB provides. I imagine the port does the same.

The scores therefore cannot be compared.

We've answered this question at least twice in this thread:
Shuurin wrote:Posted: Mon Nov 29, 2010 6:22 pm

Sign into your jp gamertag (I wasn't able to redeem it on my na gamertag). Click the xbox button, hit left twice, click redeem code, enter in the 5x5 code on the back of the dlc card, and hit enter. Should ask you where you what storage to save the dlc to then download.
StarCreator wrote:Posted: Mon Dec 06, 2010 3:59 pm

Yes, you must enter the code while logged in on a Japanese account. You'll still be able to use it on any other account on the 360 you redeem it on once it's downloaded.

The overall leaderboard include all ship types, and the leaderboard on the forums is based on overall score throughout the available ship types.

It isn't like comparing Futari Original to Maniac, because they're different modes. Comparing ships within a single mode is perfectly understandable. When Futari surfaced, everyone was saying stuff like, "oh, Abnormal Palm is way overpowered". When a single ship type has a massive advantage over others within a single mode, it heavily influences the mode in itself, and my impression of. The same could be said of Follett and Deathsmiles II X, Koutarou in Shiki 2, or the cat in Dangun.

Is it easier to keep your chain in BL? I can see myself enjoying BL and Ketsui over 1.5 if thats the case.

I wonder if we will be able to only choose Tiger Schwert while playing Ketsupachi... the 2 videos that came out so far don't show any other ship.

AFAIK the requirements are something ridiculous like no-miss/no-bomb the entire hibachi fight, and probably the whole game beforehand too. Even in the 1.5 superplay DVD's they bomb/die somewhere on hibachi, so its very likely no ones seen it in an arcade.

The requirements are listed in the cave-stg post

I hope to see a video surface soon; the requirements aren't nearly as harsh as they were for MFBL and DSMBL.

Here's what the site says,

The requirements to fight Zatsuza are as follows:
-Meet all the requirements to fight Hibachi (Maximum of one death and 2 bombs used in stages 1-5, Must beat all bosses with a full RED meter)
-Beat the first extra last boss (Golden Disaster) without dying

I've got the most brilliant idea, everyone that hasn't already played Dai 1.5... Just get this Ketsui Arrange mode, and BAM! Brand new Ketsui game, and no need to worry about acknowledging Dai 1.5 :D
