Deathsmiles PAL release (DATED: Feb 18th)
Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Maybe the totalitarian exclusive euro content will be a choice between US or J slowdowns. Would be rad.
Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Here is the official press release: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressrele ... to_PAL.php
Pretty great were getting the OST with the game! Also noticed this: Arcade (original Arcade game), Xbox 360 (Arcade conversion). Maybe it will have the original slowdowns in the Arcade mode?

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
I'd say that press-release doesn't to anything to quell the slowdown questions. It also doesn't show any content that is truly exclusive to Europe. Though the inclusion of the REAL OST is nice.

I own that Desktop accessory gadget its pretty silly actually

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Strange to see Deathsmiles on the Rising Star 'cover wrap' for MCV magazine.
My workmates from where I type now are behind the mag, and RS paid for one of those wrap around adverts that covers the front and back of the mag. Three of their games are on it, one being Deathsmiles.
Future Cave collectible.
Obviously not, but it's great to see Cave seeping into the PAL territory...

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Pretty lame that this only comes with a soundtrack (hope its not the god-awful arrange one that came with the US and JP versions) and a dumb PC data pack. At least the US got a faceplate. Oh well, now all the Euros can stop bitching about it.

I'm almost tempted to import this just for the desktop accessories, I'm a sucker for those...

You kinda have a point, though they were already discontinued when the US version came out, as well.cools wrote:Why would they provide an accessory for a discontinued console?

True, but only by a few weeks. DS was probably going to the replication site as the Slim launched.MachineAres 1CC wrote:You kinda have a point, though they were already discontinued when the US version came out, as well.cools wrote:Why would they provide an accessory for a discontinued console?

Also, remember that they had already made at least two or three faceplates by PAX East, as they were given as prizes. No one knew for sure that the slim 360 existed back then, and it's reasonable to assume the plates were already well on their way to being manufactured if they already had production-quality prototypes.
Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
The press release fills me with confidence. Surely among those three game modes there must be a completely untouched arcade perfect version.
I have a feeling that this is going to be great, and the UK is going to get something pretty special for once.

Can't wait, but one thing is troubling me. What exactly is a 'desktop accessory pack'?

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Will definitely be getting this.
What with Mushi 1.5, Esp II, Muchi and Pink Sweets, Guwange and now this, it's a cornucopia of PAL shmup Cave goodness.
Where's everyone else?

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
It doesnt for me because all the different mode use the same slowdown. Due to there been no mention about slowdown (although that isnt something I would expect to see in a generic press release) I really have no idea how RSG and Cave are gonna do. Will they give fans the product they want? or just sidestep the issue completly? Personally im quite intrested to see how Cave handle it (as this imo is mostly to do with them rather then RSG) as they (should) know how we feel about it.-SD- wrote:The press release fills me with confidence. Still I hope it sells really well so that RSG will pick up DFK for PAL release (aswell as DS2)
Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Have PAL people been letting Cave know (via their Twitter/Facebook pages) that you want the JPN slowdown and not the US one? I don't recall seeing a single comment about it on either page.

Cave are pretty good with their English-language Twitter feed. That's how I made contact and sorted that interview I did.
They certainly read everything sent their way.

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
Yes, I asked about if that promised Guwange "cool stuff" was a 4:3 patch and got a direct answer (on Twitter) saying: that was in reference to the how-to-play guide. The did however tell me to e-mail the 360 gang about that, but I'm quite sure that they are already aware.

Well ain't that a kick in the teeth. I've actually found myself going back to MAME because at least it displays properly on my monitor.emphatic wrote:Yes, I asked about if that promised Guwange "cool stuff" was a 4:3 patch and got a direct answer (on Twitter) saying: that was in reference to the how-to-play guide. Indeed, they've even responded to just random quips i've made about cave products. Like my giant thank you for DFK BL tweet.spadgy wrote:Cave are pretty good with their English-language Twitter feed. That's how I made contact and sorted that interview I did.

I'd like to know as well. It states its to 'kit out your PC' which sounds really strange. I wouldnt say no to a faceplate though.Weak Boson wrote:Can't wait, but one thing is troubling me. What exactly is a 'desktop accessory pack'?

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
If it's anything like other desktop accessory packs I've imported, it contains content like wallpapers and sound themes, along with extras like character bios and interviews. You should ask Zeron exactly what's on this one, since he seems to have the Japanese one.
Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
It looks like a really nice package. The cover art is pretty cool. Just waiting for it to show up on Amazon UK now.

Re: Deathsmiles PAL release...
I'm pretty dissapointed with the "Deluxe Edition", but just 18 pounds. So I might pick this up for CAVE support in europe. But if it's true it will come around the same time as mmp/ps, so I don't know if I will playing this much.
