The point was the game wasn't coming out today.
But you still had to make the same exact post.
Tool.

Konami posted their TGS stuff, and its not in alphabetical order, this is significant because Otomedius X is on the top of the list!
Konami's link to the Otomedius X Preview site (http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/otome_x/?ref=tgs) now has a reference to it to TGS, so we should keep an eye on that.
I have a feeling the game's preorder campaign will be announced and detailed (and possibly started...) at TGS, as will the US/EU release stuff (because lets face it, every game show is international now...)
Still no CERO, ESRB or PEGI ratings for Otomedius Excellent, so release is at least a few weeks away anyway.

I haven't been to a GameStop in a week or two, but LOL. This is exactly what they do all the time with their BS release dates. EXACT same thing happened with Samurai Shodown Sen. It said Early October, then November, then 1/1/2010, then cancelled. Then like April or something when it got "un-cancelled." Looks like I'll be getting the JP version either way, cause the US release is a long way off.

Kotaku recently posted some TGS impressions...not sure if they left anything important out, but from what's there it doesn't sound like anything too special, unfortunately. Guess I'll just have to hope that Konami is planning on adding more than additional fan service to the formula, unlikely as that seems.

Yeah the screenshots on 4gamer make this look like they're making into a new age shootem up instead of leaving the gradius formula that actually works the fuck alone.BulletMagnet wrote:Kotaku recently posted some TGS impressions...not sure if they left anything important out, but from what's there it doesn't sound like anything too special, unfortunately. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that.

Looks like your typical Konami Hori shooter to me. Boss fight seemed a bit bland, but then they usually are.

Played this at TGS!
I was a fan of the original game, so this seems like more of the same. Graphics are a lot better but still pretty plain compared to other games. The music was good. Game itself felt bland, I guess it gives me the same feeling as the original.
Shit I noticed,
By default you could power up each of your weapons.
I started with a shield.
There's now a burst counter, didn't seem to be a way to activate it in the demo so no idea how that works.
Boss battles still have the anime character taunting you beforehand.
People suck at this game. There were 3 TVs with the game set up, I finished the demo before the people who got there before me. Seemed to get stuck at the boss, trying to destroy all of the shields instead of hitting the core.

Was it by default, or do you think Konami just unlocked weapon cards from the get go for the demo? Did you see anyone else manage to pull off a burst?originalz wrote:Played this at TGS!

Well the first boss (from what I saw in shakeycam footage) reminds me of the first boss of Gradius Galaxies, with the 7 million things taped on it that you can blow off but you really only need to hit 3 to be able to shoot into the core.
I wonder if there's still a "Gorgeous" mode (which by god if it is there will likely be renamed, simply to confuse everyone) that is bog standard Gradius in widescreen mode. As much fun as Arcade mode is and as much as I love arcade mode, sometimes its just better to not have the 7 million options going into a game of, at the end of the day, Gradius.
Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.
Couldn't choose loadout, so it's possible that they gave you a set of full-powered weapon cards.
I don't see how it would have been possible to burst in the demo, the last option had no words on it so I assumed it was for the shield. Didn't see anyone else burst, although I didn't pay too much attention to other players.

He's talking about the original Otomedius game (Otomedius Gorgeous). Although it was more their boobs since their portrait pics were front side, but it's just as well their asses would have been fair game too if you got both viewpoints.drauch wrote:WHAT GAME WAS THIS FROM? I remember when someone here had a call to arms to get the most pre-orders in a GameStop for DeathSmiles NA in Enfield,CT that I went and pre-ordered both that AND Otomedius X. Bet I'll get a call from "Ashley" about my pre-order for Oh-tom-medes Excellent sometime next year then. 9_9
Also kudos for Siliconera having been exclusively on top of this game's developments...and Kokoro Belmont! ^_^;

I'm hoping there are more Gradius Gaiden quotes 'cause if you ask me that was the best thing in Otomedius. So cold in space.

I don't know, Shame on Konami for waiting this long into Fall 2010 if they knew they were going to delay it that far into 2011.
Either way, now I'm pissed about my US Preorder because I hate giving Gamestop money that just sits in a bank account growing interest and now they've gotten 6 whole months out of my money, Fuck them.
I would preorder it somewhere else, but acting like this game will even make it to Best buy is just a joke.
Either way, Now I have time to play Fallout: New Vegas, I was planning on playing Otomedius X by Christmas, but with 6 months I've got PLENTY of time to get all the achievements for Fallout. Cool.

Everybody has been making that mistake since like, the beginning. I think Konami has come out twice and said this game will be on a Disc.Kron wrote:Now destined for Xbox Live Arcade? Or just incorrect journalism?

Of course, uncompressed Gorgeous was 6 gigabytes, so... I'd imagine Excellent to be around the same size.

Just noticed that Gamestop's listing for this now pegs the release for September '11 - granted, this IS Gamestop we're talking about, but something tells me that a spring date could be overly optimistic. Let's just hope we don't have another Illvelo on our hands...

Konami of America had announced this game 2 to 3 months after KOJ's previous date, so... the beginning of September sounds about right for those of us who aren't going to import.
I am sadly too much of a fan.
Also, would someone rename this thread already? Otomedius Deluxe is a non existent product. We're all talking about Otomedius Excellent here, right?
