Last week I broke down and ordered a jp 360 along with Ketsui and Daioujou. I did this after seeing that preorders were open for Virtual On Force, and realizing that I don't live in a world that would possibly bring that along with all the shmups I want here domestically.

I just received word that my package arrived, and I can't wait to leave here and pick it up! I already have Daioujou on the PS2, but still...

I wonder if I can possibly get out of work early? Priorities are important.

Anyways, I find the time between placing an order and receiving it to be almost excruciating. I check the tracking page like a man obsessed. I imagine that I'm not alone in this.

I know the feeling. I was in Cuba when my JP 360 arrived and the door hanger blew off before my rommate got it. Long story short it was sitting in the post office for nearly 10 days before I was able to get it. That wait was hell.

Word. Some time ago I ordered the Williams Collection from the US and it took a month to get here. The wait was really painful.

This is already one of the best threads ever. And I HATE waiting for stuff too!!!! Especially here in Canada where the wait times are awful sometimes. My Duo-R was stuck in customs for four days and it was driving me insane....knowing it was just down the road and I couldn't get it. Damnable tracking!

This is already one of the best threads ever. And I HATE waiting for stuff too!!!! Especially here in Canada where the wait times are awful sometimes. My Duo-R was stuck in customs for four days and it was driving me insane....knowing it was just down the road and I couldn't get it. Damnable tracking!

It's not so bad if the delivery is coming via a Courier or EMS, but god help you if it's just regular old mail. Once had a parcel sit in Windsor at customs for a solid week before being processed with a hefty handling feed and duty charge.

Currently doing the package shuffle with the Cave History Book Rancor shipped off to me. Sadly it appears to still be sitting in Tokyo according to the last EMS update. At least it's marked as a gift so I don't get completely raped.

That's hilarious! As for the topic: for me the hardest part is deciding whether or not to sell my kidney to pay for expedited shipping or withstand the long wait. Usually it's the wait but for some of those special items it's worth the kidney for sure.

Yeah, Bill Watterson was cool with his Calvin & Hobbes comic strip. The only thing was that he absolutely refused to license out his C&H IP as stuffed toys, or mass produced related media (like Charles Shultz did with his Peanuts comic strip). Would've been cool to see an animated C&H special or movie. I do recall seeing those unlicensed window decal stickers of Calvin giving a sly look while taking a piss back in the early to mid 1990s.

The infamous "Bill the Cat" stuffed toy was considered the ultimate yuppie toy to own back in the mid-1980s with it's MSRP of $49.99 USD.

I won an eBay auction one time and the item was sent via regular Canadian "snail" mail to the USA -- slow as fuck...took about two & half weeks of waiting for it to finally arrive at it's final destination.

I almost never get taxed on anything for some reason, even when the stuff sits in customs. Not complaining I'd say 1-2 packages a year usually.

Depends on who you're ordering from and how much i guess. Got a $21 customs/handling charge on my Copy of BlazBlue CS i imported from HMV Japan. That was a fork in the side.

Yeah, the waiting. I remember sending off for the original Boba Fett figure way back in 1980. Man, that was an eternity, but I can still remember the day it arrived. It's a memory.

In the UK there is always trouble around the time of a cave port landing. Postal strikes and Play Asia mucking about last november, a damned volcano eruption for Ketsui... I wonder what's coming in the next month for DFK...

I just had a spending frenzy myself, bought a bunch of stuff from rancor and now I'm waiting ever so patiently for it to all arrive.
The last time I remember waiting for something was when I was a kid; I won a Technic Star Wars figure from the Official Lego Club in a contest and checked the mail every day waiting for it.

I think that my getting more seriously into shmups is forcing me to learn a bit more patience than I am typically used to. I'm working now on getting a decent-ish tate setup, and I'm waiting on a power supply for an emotia. As it is a discontinued item, the electronics store I purchased the supply from has a 2-5 day turn around to find and test the thing.

Hopefully by the time I have the funds to start pursuing a cab, I will have the patience of a monk.
