I do love the Amiga though I think this is a bit out of my budget at the moment (since I'd need a CD32 and one of those SX-1 or SX-32 expansions to get the best out of it and let's be fair, WinUAE is pretty darn good these days) but I thought this might be of interest to some on here:-

From the webpage:-
Indivision AGA goes a new path. As the name suggests, it's a flickerfixer that is very closely tied to the AGA chipset. This could only be achieved by putting the flickerfixer inside of the computer. The product is mounted over the video chip "Lisa". The VGA display is connected directly to the flickerfixer. Further connections are not necessary.
Indivision AGA's most notable features are:
* 24 Bit colour resolution in all screenmodes
* support for super hires modes
* Highgfx support up to 1024x768 pixels
* all screenmodes can be displayed at 60 Hz or more
* no adjustments necessary
Two options have been added for retro-gaming enthusiasts that allow a step-by-step approximation to the display of an old TV set: Vertical synchronisation allows reducing the output frequency down to 49.9 Hz, which will eliminate tearing effects. In addition to that, a scanline emulation can be switched on. This will simulate the dark lines between the scanlines of a TV screen.
Neat huh?

Re: Amiga specific scandoubler with scan-line emulation
flickerfixer is such an annoying term
Re: Amiga specific scandoubler with scan-line emulation
Well on the original Amiga's you could access a high (for the time) resolution screen mode by using interlace. The only problem of course was it flickered like hell. I think that is why lots of people refer to Amiga specific scandoublers as flicker fixers.

Re: Amiga specific scandoubler with scan-line emulation
I have the A1200 Indivision AGA and it works marvelously well. Only problem with it is that nowhere has it in stock anymore and there are only empty promises of a new lot being produced.

become history
Re: Amiga specific scandoubler with scan-line emulation
I bought a generic and external "flicker fixer" some time ago, to use with an A600.
The result is perfect, but these things are pricey.
There was one 'problem' with the one I had bought, though : I think I couldn't set my (CRT) monitor for the image to cover the whole screen, there was always some black area.
Afaic, I think I shouldn't have bought it because I don't use my Amiga enough (+ WinUAE is indeed a nice piece of software and I don't care much about not using the original hardware). It is not totally a waste though, since that'll allow me to dispose of my old 1084S Amiga monitor, and save some room.

Re: Amiga specific scandoubler with scan-line emulation
I have one of the old external Amiga flicker fixers from around 2000 time and it does a pretty good job, as with the XRGB-3 some of the older Amiga scandoublers are struggling to work with newer TV's though.
I'm keeping my old Commodore monitor, the C64 looks great on it and that tinny speaker makes me feel nostalgic
