Okay, this (Stereometry Week) was the most guessable one, judging by the amount of proper guesses I've seen. You get to collect some gold cubes!

Now, I know, I know, it counterstops. That's true. However, in the event of more than one person getting that (probably will happen), the EXP counter will be the deciding factor.

Settings
-default settings
-only arcade version, since the DC port has different scoring (plus it doesn't counterstop)
-US version
-Autofire allowed (no limit)
-One credit!
-No old scores!

Ah don´t know if I´m looking forward to this. Game is great, but I suck at it. Also it´s hard to get used to the Arcade version without the Auto Piercing Cannon. Plus I need to get a pad as keyboard really doesn´t work for this game.

I'm utterly horrible at this game. I've owned it for the DC for years, and I still have no clue about what the hell I'm doing...

Yeah, it's weird not having dedicated buttons. It adds another layer of skill to the game as you really have to have a feel for how the cannon charges.

I can play this on DC if I use arcade settings, right?
This game is much harder than I expected it to be. Good on you if you can score well/survive in this. It should be a fun week, at least I'll try to do well. When i had gotten this a little while ago, I had looked at the board here and was crushed by how high the scores were. Looks like another week in the middle bracket for me. Yay! I have preformed adequately!

I was thinking I might come to like danmaku shmups after all. Then I got to stage 2.

Oh great.

Not only this week I won't have much free time, I completely suck at this game. It's one of those games that makes me scratch my head thinking "WTF is happening?" while the game manages to kick my ass with an alarming rate of success.

Indeed. Though you can switch the difficulty in the dip switch settings on the US version to 4, which is Japanese difficulty. Although there isn't much of a difference, I would like to know what we should be playing, please :)

Seems to be a little bit higher yeah. I noticed a different (harder) pattern from the big battleship in stage 4 in the japanese version.

At least that´s something to start with. Controlling the Piercing Cannon manually really makes it much harder. Especially annoying when slowdowns occur and you need to push the button slower.

Need to know whether this should be US or JAP pretty soon. I have the US version but there's little point practicing on that if the JAP version is harder and that's the version we should be playing.

Assume not if the piercing shot remains a separately mapped button.

No. Dreamcast Arcade Mode has different scoring values, you get a lot more points than in the arcade version. And Elite/Arrange Mode of course has completely different level designs.
