Which Original Mode of Futari is better?
1.0 or 1.5?
Why?
I'm considering a 1.0 kit, and I know where to get it.
I've 1CC'd Original Mode on Futari 1.5 - once - by a stroke of luck.
I'm not an advanced shooter player, but I can hold my own.
Original on 1.5 wasn't MEGA HARD, but come second half of Stage 3, it wasn't easy.
I did rely on bombs for the stage 4 boss and a lot of stage 5.
But some say 1.0 is better.
I'd like to hears the pro's and cons from people who actually played it.

Dude, 1.0 is fucking crazy hard. It's really good if you want to fight through confidence shattering pain, but for all it's merit it can be very frustrating.
It's great as a 360 extra, but biting the bullet for this over 1.5 is serious business when buying at PCB values. That's purely for the collectors, and you ain't one of those.

Define "CRAZY HARD".Skykid wrote:Dude, 1.0 is fucking crazy hard. It's really good if you want to fight through confidence shattering pain, but for all it's merit it can be very frustrating.

Like DOJ?
It makes Futsri not fun, hard?
Re: Member Opinions: Futari Original Mode - 1.0 or 1.5? Why?
Bombs on bosses don't do shit, you get a total of 5 bombs during the whole game on top of that and the bullets will be heading your way much faster..... hard. 3rd stage is always gonna be a bit more of a bitch in the versions, just will be less of a bitch depending on the version.
Futari is a GREAT game.... but just get a 1.5 or BL. Getting a 1.0 is... I dunno why you'd want it really other than collecting like mentioned before. Plus the scoring is busted and not as fun than 1.5 or BL.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
Re: Member Opinions: Futari Original Mode - 1.0 or 1.5? Why?
"crazy hard" as in "unfair", at least doj is fair, futari 1.0 is just broken
Re: Member Opinions: Futari Original Mode - 1.0 or 1.5? Why?
I was tempted to do a Gaijinpunch here and throw up a picture of a boner, but I think Bloodflowers would have kicked my ass.TonK wrote: Define "CRAZY HARD".

1.0 really does feel like a beta version of sorts. As I mentioned, it's an interesting novelty, but only if you were a Futari freak would you bother putting serious time into it. It can feel unfair and unfairly difficult, and as such the main enjoyment you get from it is as free DLC rather than a full priced game. Otherwise you'll be cursing a lot at the speed and homing properties of the bullets and working yourself into a tantrum trying to score at all.
I'd only buy for collection purposes, and I don't have the money for that.

I'll buy you a 1.0 kit and you send me your 1.5?

Ha ha, or maybe I could send my board back to Cave and ask for a downgrade.TonK wrote:I'll buy you a 1.0 kit and you send me your 1.5?

Well, I'll throw in my 2 yen.
The scoring, as well, is definitely not broken... there's just much less of it compared to 1.5. I won't argue w/ the fact that it does feel a bit like a loke test version of 1.5. But, 1.5's original just did nothing for me. I 1CC'ed it on about the 5th credit or so after clearing Maniac, and was done with it.
Considering Tonk is very likely to pass this on when he's done with it, I don't see the harm in picking one up.
Maniac I only played a few times, and I think this would take me a good month or 2 of solid play to clear... which ain't going to happen. Original took me about 1.5 - 2 weeks. To put that in perspective, ESPGaluda II took me a month. Original mode is nowhere nearly as hard as DOJ, and there's only one "unfair" part in the game: Level 4 boss. There's some serious cocked up hit detection when those ball things come flying at you.crazy hard

Looks like you should just pony up for a jxbox, lots 'o games. With even more on the horizon. Espgaluda II BL...
I didn't really gel with Futari at first, it was really my first Cave game. I loved the butter smooth controls. But, every time I come back to it I really enjoy it's straight up shooter simplicity, well besides that wack ass only kill with this type during this many gold bs in Original. Maybe I should sport for BL, that doesn't have that right?
Get the xbox version! I'm sure somebody will do you a solid and get you a code. For the price of one board you get; the system, a stick, game (while getting jabbed on the price of a 1.0 code), a crt to tate, with loot left for snacks.

Original BL does have shot type switching, but it's every 3000 and there a chime to remind you to switch. You also score big by milking gems off large enemies at close range. Very enjoyable game to play for score. Maniac and God modes use a chain-based mechanic.xris wrote:But, every time I come back to it I really enjoy it's straight up shooter simplicity, well besides that wack ass only kill with this type during this many gold bs in Original. I thought I heard EOJ say it was busted.... but I do enjoy calling things busted in general so I may have wanted to remember that someone did.The scoring, as well, is definitely not broken... there's just much less of it compared to 1.5

I find 1.0 to be way too hard. It's psycho frustrating.
1.5 is much more fun.
