I found a way to fit SH3 boards into MVS shock boxes and made these covers... thought I'd but em up for folks to peruse or scoff at. Once I get them printed and they show up in the mail I'll show the final product.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Less wear/tear on the CAVE/AMI boxes no doubt, but is it not dangerous to store a PCB inside a plastic box (static electricity build-up)?

Edit: Where did you get that Reco picture used under the logo (the purple dress one)?

By finding a way, you mean you placed the PCB in the shockbox and closed it? I recall them fitting without any modifications to the shockbox.

You have to cut them..... if you know of a way otherwise, I'd be happy to learn a way not to. There are larger parts that will not let it close, sticking upwards off the board. But that overlap can be cut easily out of the way.

I know fuck all about electronics but those shockboxes do indeed carry a lot of static. I'd check on that.

I can still keep them in antistatic bags... but i plan on lining them with the the bag's material.

I assume you mean "online"...?

Are these the resolution you're printing them at? Because, if they are, they're going to look like poopoo.

Poor choice.

Static gathers on the outside of an anti-static bag, by design. The PCB needs to be sealed in the bag.

Line the inside with some kind of thin foam padding.

Put the boards inside cabs, not on the shelf.

I'm wondering about that too. I've had a hell of a time trying to find really nice high res scans/art of CAVE games for custom stick art. Like 300 dpi resolution kind of stuff.

I used photoshop... they need to be hi-res, huge. so no, those are for sure not being shown in all there bandwith hogging glory.
Put the boards inside cabs, not on the shelf.
Sorry, I don't own any cabs... especially not 17 cabs. I don't have the space, so I use a sony pvm and a super gun..... I'm quite happy this way. I usually keep them in cardboard boxes (that are the same size as shockboxes) that I get from work, and they stay in these boxes within a anti-static bubble-wrap bag that I also..... get from work. I noticed recently these boxes from work were the same size as the shocks. I'm having fun playing around with photoshop, like usual..... so I had some more fun with it.

Besides where else should I keep my PCBs... in the bottom of my closet, under my bead, thrown in a box on the floor, maybe under the sofa? Sorry I went with on a shelf in my closet. I will be moving them to open shelf space where my MVS carts are now though. I do need to get around to figuring out a better way of storing things other than shelving. What would you suggest? Perhaps burlap sacks with hooks??
Poor choice.

Static gathers on the outside of an anti-static bag, by design. The PCB needs to be sealed in the bag.
was thinking of lining it.... I'll just keep them sealed in the bag and put it in there like I have always done. The bottom of the inside is cardboard anyway and now so is the top (not shown in pic).

That looks great. I might do this with my Ibara as it's not a kit, and I have have one spare shock box.

i have a spare one aswell in case you decide to buy akai katana after all :ave

ed: btw it looks great, definetly keep the antistatic bag sealed as static will build up inside if you just line the box.

I have always stored my PCBs outside of the kits.... OCD about that cardboard and wear and tear. Douchey I know.... but I admit I am made happy by nice minty coardboard.

Do most of you guys store your PCBs in the kit? Just curious.

I think it looks sharp. I do not have any PCBs but if I did I would go that route.
