Does Psikyo SH2 hardware have a stereo output?

Post by NOAH »

One website lists two of the titles as "2-channel stereo". I can't find a stereo output on the pcb's or in the manual. Does anyone know the true answer? Thanks, everyone.

KLOV is commonly wrong, if thats where you got your info. Strikers Plus for MVS might be the only one that is stereo, but I don't have a mobo that support that to know for sure.

Yup, all cave stuff is mono. apart from DSII I guess.

KLOV is a fountain of misinformation it seems.

Thanks for the clarification, Kern. I only had to own one JAMMA pcb to discover that KLOV isn't always right. What type of hardware is DSII on?

Yep, Dave K. is right about the MVS cart version of Strikers 1945 Plus being presented in glorious stereo output (assuming that you have a MVS mobo that does output in both mono & stereo -- i.e. MV-1 or the MV-1A mobos).

Even the single layer PGM based Cave PCBs like DDP-DOJ, DDP-DOJ BL variant, Ketsui & ESPgaluda along with the SH-3 powered Cave PCBs like Ibara are still presented in mono sound output.

It's possible to play Cave's Progear No Arashi in stereo with the use of a CPS2 Q-Sound amp setup. It's playable in mono but doesn't sound as good, of course.

MV-1A is mono only.
