Dark awake/Chaos breaker to PSN Japan this summer

Post by Khan »

http://iplaywinner.com/news/2010/6/7/na ... awake.html

Ah man I tried this game for like 5 minutes and had to catch a train so didnt get a chance to really play it but what I played I really enjoyed it sorta reminded me of Golden axe the duel on the Saturn/Arcade and since then Ive always wanted to get the game. Even mailed excellent.com about it but in the end it was too much to buy the Type X hardware so decided against it.

Now im so glad its coming out for PSN but im wondering if we will ever get a Euro or US release? also is it possible for a Euro PS3 to aquire this game even though its only on JPN PSN?

heres hoping they fix some of the infinite comboes.

Damn, that is awesome news. I always wondered about this game.
I do not expect it to be over the top awesome, but still great news that this is coming out and yes ps3 is region free. you can make an account on jp psn. no prob! buy a psn card on ebay or something and you´re breaking Chaos. Why did I not read about this anywhere? Thanks for tip. keep us posted on when it gets released.
And uhm Golden Axe the duel on Saturn sucks majorly! If it´s that bad than Dark Awake is fail. Why change the name?

Dark Awake was the original beta name actually. I wonder if there's some copyright issue at hand, like Chaos Breaker being too close to the PS1 game Chaos Break (incidentally renamed from the arcade basis Chaos Heat).

omg Golden Axe the duel does not suck! maybe you suck at it but I loved it especially the OTT supers I had some serious fun with Doc and Deathadder in that game.

I was pretty good at it, but the game is plain awful.
There probably isn´t a worst fighter on the Saturn. If so please name it!

Excluding non-Japanese and non-2D fighters.

round 3, fight!

Of course there is! 8) if were talking 2D the wrestlemania and Mortal Kombat games were sucky compared to Golden axe the duel but nothing trumped Battle monsters, but truthfully I cannot comment on Battle monsters since I never played it but you only have to look at the GFQ reviews to see how dismal it was.

Umm... The first game on that list, Advanced V.G., is worse than Golden Axe by far.

This is such a random choice for a PSN release. I kind of want to play it, though...

Maybe I should get that JP PSN account after all.

The graphical output is really ugly and the port is barebones in terms of modes and options. But it does offer 2 brand new sprites for the human hero and heroine. And it seems nobody is sure how to choose 1 character and 3 items (unrestricted access) as seen in the arcade. But it's still a "can't miss" to support 2D fighters and if this is the only game you wanted out of the still-expensive Type X.

I played this in the arcade _really_ briefly a few years back, was neater than I was expecting. Next time I get some JP store credit I might pick it up if I can find a few people who express interest in playing it locally. Nice to see it finally got a home release.
