I feel sorry for the poor admin of this thread. I beat my high score again. Maybe this game's high score tables should be spread out over multiple posts?

Anyway, I watched the #1 score's replay on XBLA and learned a really easy way to get through Larsa's first pattern. Practiced Larsa a bunch and got good enough that I was able to beat her quite often with only three bombs and without having to do too many crazy dodges. If you're having trouble with Larsa you can check out my easy mode strat on XBLA, I am #9 with Abnormal Palm there now.

Then I practiced st5 a bit more and then I got the run where nothing went terribly wrong. I still died on st3 of course, so I should still be able to get at least my goal of 300M.

Just heard that you can get loads of points from those lanterns in st5. Reviewed my earlier 286M play and noticed that I was indeed missing a few lanterns. So after this I felt like I wanted to have one last game for today and managed to improve my high score yet again.

Congrats! I want to get back into this game, my dream is a 3bil+ 1cc but it seems like it takes forever getting back into this mode when you take a break from it. Maybe after STGT is over

I set some new scores with replays on XBL. Neither of them top my Reco or Palm scores here, though. Been getting into Abnormal Reco, she can be a bit weird to control at first, but her speed helps in some parts, and her lockon options are actually pretty strong fully powered up. Makes for a fun time.

360 Mode - Original 1.5 - Abnormal Reco - 294mil~ish - Lx2 - Rank 4 on XBL (abn reco). Check out my replay! Watch me fail at getting the 1up in Stage 5, it was kind of comical.
Also 360 Mode - Normal Palm - 303mil or so - Lx2? - Rank 11 on XBL (norm palm)... mostly did this one so I could beat old normal palm score.

I think I'm going to attempt to better my Normal Reco score soon... see if I can finally crack beyond 330mil, which seems pretty tough, gotta not die basically so the counter can go beyond 60K. Still tons of fun.

After reading somewhere on these boards that the elite dpad was better than the regular one I picked up an elite controller and switched from the analog stick and WOW. I have a new appreciation for this game now that I can focus on the patterns instead of worrying about hyper sensitive movement. Whoever gave that tip I owe you, elite dpad owns.

Well, I WAS excited to post my score... until I saw all of yours.

I'm still having some difficulty with stage 2 when those 3 large manta ray things come out before the boss. Their patterns make me dizzy. Occasionally, I'll no-miss both stages 1 and 2 without using any bombs. Stage 3 kills me when the rolly-pollies of doom come out. I have yet to see stage 4

Anyway beyond my nagging, I've been working on an Abnormal Reco score in 1.5 Original. I have reached 337 million but I need to at least keep my counter up through half of the 5th stage if I want to improve. I keep dying! Argh.
