Soukyugurentai was the reason I modded my Saturn. When I used the ST Key, I always got this grid on my screen when I played. Really messed things up. Modding it cleared all that up. Unfortunately all the english text turned to Jap text.
It is a bit better than Layer Section, but not by a whole lot. I think it's looks kinda give it the upper hand. Both are great games.

Re: SOUKYUGURENTAI
Actually, I don't think I've been here long enough to know that XDYeah, and everyone knows what a heartless hard-nose I am.
Never been able to get my hands on a copy, saddly.

Anyone know if there was a Stateside port?

I recall that the Playstation version did get a USA release as Terra Diver. I don't believe the Saturn one came out over here, and no clue on the ST-V version.

Nope, none of Souky's console ports ever left Japan, though I think its original arcade version appeared overseas.sunburstbasser wrote:I recall that the Playstation version did get a USA release as Terra Diver.

I saw only the PSX version and it looked nowhere near as good as RayForce.evil_ash_xero wrote:It is a bit better than Layer Section, but not by a whole lot. I think it's looks kinda give it the upper hand. Both are great games.

If Terra Driver's not a 'Souky' US port, then WHAT THE HELL IS IT?!

It's the name Soukyuugurentai was given when it got an arcade release in North America. No console port was ever released under that name.ShmupSamurai wrote:If Terra Driver's not a 'Souky' US port, then WHAT THE HELL IS IT?! :?

Re: SOUKYUGURENTAI
Okay, that makes sense, though I never saw a Terra Driver cab in ANY arcade I went to.
What a shame.
Thanks for clearing that up
