Glad to see the community didn't die as soon as I showed up or anything :P

I'll do my best to spread my contact information around, hopefully make it out to a meet before too long.

Man, Coldwater is a bit of a hike, but if you could make it out sometime, that'd be cool.

Davey, I'll remember to let you know. Figured you were still recovering from the last time you were up here =P

Yeah it's a bit of a drive, but I have a lot of friends in the Ann Arbor/Detroit area so I'm quite used to making the trip by now. I'd probably only really need to drive as far as Ann Arbor anyway, since I have a friend there that would likely be interested in going as well and willing to drive :P

What should I look for on Facebook, is there a group? I don't use Facebook a ton but I'll hop on if it's the easiest way to stay in touch.

If you found Tommy on there, I'm sure you'll find the rest of us lol.

Davey, I think we should make you a fan page. That way you don't have to log in, we'll just post on your wall that something is going on.

i haev fans lolololol

Slashdot and Hacker News have brainwashed me into thinking that Facebook is pure evil, but this just might be acceptable (assuming a distraught Jon Arbuckle is used for my likeness, of course).

I may have the cheapest phone on the market, but yeah, it does texts (assuming my inbox isn't full... :x $20 phone, you get what you pay for).

Any classic requests for next weekend? If I remember, there was a request for Vectrex and some 7800 games?

ah yes! please bring anything for 7800, especially Klax!
Only games I have for the 7800 are: Astroids, Xevious, Joust, Food Fight, Pole Position II, and Dig Dug.
Some stuff I'd like to see if you have it are:
Ninja Golf
Commando
Ikari Warriors
Scrapyard Dog
Xenophobe

and any games that require two buttons, some euro controllers are in need, as I only have one joystick and I hate it!

And also I'd like to see the SFII SMS game we had talked about a while back

I have all those 7800 games... I can also bring along a few of my 7800 prototype reproductions. I have a pair of euro 7800 pads, as well as 2600 Wico sticks. Only one button will work on 7800 with em, but I know for a number of games that's all that you need.

I can bring along SF2 and Virtua Fighter for Master System ;p

Last night was a lot of fun as always. Who would've thought I'd actually enjoy ESPGaluda II? And I hate that Ketsui is growing on me like a fungus -_-

Anyway, looking forward to next weekend!

What's wrong with liking Ketsui? I'd be playing the shit out of it if I hadn't retired to Catan and MTG: n00b Edition.

...can't say the same about ESPGaluda II, though. :P

Facebook is fucking creepy.

About two hours ago, I got an email from some Berniece character asking to become a Facebook friend. But the name it was addressed to was Janet, but with my email address. Amongst the "Other people you may know on Facebook:" is my girlfriend.

Resistance is futile.

Davey, does this mean you have a real fb page then?

Is anything going on soon? Seems like it's been a while since an "official" gathering.

Nope, but apparently a minor detail like that doesn't prevent Facebook from knowing who I know. How they know that, I have no clue, especially since they can't even get my name right (hint, Facebook: it's not Janet). I'm guessing it's some kind of spam being sent from within Facebook, because even though my name is wrong and the invitations are from people I don't know, the links to join are legit Facebook links. Normal people shrug this stuff off, but I racked my brain trying to figure it out, to no avail.
Yeah, I just read about that at the VOOT forum and posted about it in the off topic section here. The VOOT forum was down yesterday when I checked it, maybe it had a meltdown from all the metallic boob traffic. Supposedly it's LE only... so not only will I be the gaijin with the horrible ping time trying to find a teammate, but I'll have an inferior rack to boot. Although I only use Fei-Yen once in a while, and I never use Angelan.

I'd be interested in something going down soon! I'd love the opportunity to run some more old school games... and I do have Kid Dracula. Just need a faq to get through the damn game show boss.

I thought the lead singer of a band I saw the other night kinda looked like Sonic R:

Might have just been the lighting and the mild buzz I had going on, though.

Lmao, that does kind of look like him.

I guess it's been so long since this thread was posted in, it decided not to tell me there were any replies.

Hopefully, we can get something together soon? It's been a long time.

Just passing the word along. Kinn Henderson, known more commonly on here as Robotron, passed away last night. I'm still in shock myself; I just saw him yesterday when we ran some shooters with Dale, and some Vectrex. We were going to help him set up his game room next week.

RIP to a longtime anchor of the Michigan game scene. Known more recently for his Friday Night Gaming sessions in the early 2000s, Kinn was a gamer all the way back into his youth, and was a dominant force in many classic video games, such as Mr. Do, or his namesake game Robotron 2084, where he was a tournament winner back in the day. He worked in arcades, visited arcades, and would even go to shops for the sole purpose of playing games such as Rip Off. Michigan, and the gaming scene in general, has lost a real legend today, and we should all have a moment of remembrance.
