Ohhhh. I just thought you had a cold for that run.
[/stupidjoke]

That second boss is murder, but I find that if you get the rank (hyper count) up pretty high before then, and hyper during the boss battle, some of the patterns might be easier. As for directives to accomplish this, I suggest to collect all the bees and not spare any hypers. I'm sorry if me giving unsolicited advice displeases you.

Sapz - 56,020,210 - A-E - 1-5 - 957 Hit

An initial 1-ALL score. Time to start working on my chaining.

EDIT: Got a better score.

Sapz - 78,095,510 - A-E - 1-5 - 1140 Hit

This seemed like it was going to be a pretty bad run at first since I died three times on Stage 3, but I pulled off the hyper trick on the Stage 4 boss for the first time, and had a pretty nice Stage 5 too. :D

Still stuck at 82 millions. I have improved survival though. I can now sometimes no-miss stage 1-3 and I usually get to stage 1-5.
I am getting better at surviving stage 1-5. Came to stage 1-5 with two lives, almost got to last boss.

Kind of stuck in a rut and not really improving my game much. Need to work on my stage 4 chain to break 100 million.

Don't use a hyper at the 2nd boss, it pushes the rank skyhigh. If necessary, I only use it at the very end to benefit from the short invulnerability.

Thanks Tonk. Just keep practicing to get a full level chain with all the bees and you'll boost your score way up. Stage 2 is good one to start with.

Only reason why I got this high score is because I managed to chain stage 2 almost perfectly ( missed the last bee, used 5 hypers in the end ).
I died before midboss in stage 1-5.

A small milestone for me as it's the first time I've managed to see stage 5 in a run, after the sheer murder that is stage 4... I'm starting to think I should completely forget about hypers, instead of using them on stage 2 to secure the extend and as a bomb cancel, but I do not know if the actual mechanics work that way (i.e. how much does bombing/dying lower rank compared to a hyper increase?)

moozooh - 21,875,520 - B-S - 1-3 - 869

Random notes: my largest chain so far was 1075 on 1-2 with 4 hypers, I could probably push for 1300+ with five if I manage to do everything right, which would allow me to get the second score extend before gameover. Don't care about other chains for now, cause they will only impede survival at this point. Still can't pass 1-4 though, despite being able to no-miss (and largely no-bomb) every individual section of it in stage practice. Also tried my hand at practicing first loop bosses with max rank on PS2 port's stage practice parameters with B-S. Stage 2, 3, 4: no-miss/no-bomb (damn, the stage 3 one was a tough bitch), stage 5: no-miss, 3 bombs. Now if only I could put that all together in a single run, getting 1-ALL would be no harder than in regular DDP…

Suddenly, White Label! And a score that apparently moves me up 6 places (haha).

moozooh - 43,096,060 - B-S - 1-5 - 1288 (replay)

Went pretty decently into stage 3 with full life/bomb stock, but somehow that managed to gradually go downhill. Very disappointed I haven't survived up to the last midboss (would've likely crossed 50 million there), but getting there with no spare lives and only two bombs in stock was too much. What I did in the honeycomb section was already pretty cool for what it was worth (seriously). :D
