Konami brings Otomedius Excellent (Xbox 360) to U.S.
It seems that finally Konami will bring Otomedius G! to America.
But as Otomedius Deluxe, with a tentative release date of Sept. 7th. Pricing is tentative at at whopping $59.99.
No word if the extra DLC is included with this pricetag.

Link? That price seems absurd given that you can get the "best" version of the import for about half that amount.

Will hit the $10 bin faster than Wartech, or will bewbies on the cover be enough to pull ahead?Chiaroscuro wrote:Pricing is tentative at at whopping $59.99.
I'm kind of looking forward to what domestic reviewers have to say about this one.

i hope for a PAL release, just like every other gradius title
Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.
Game sucks.
Only played it once at a Shmeet @CIT's place, the input lag is so horrible and makes the game borderline unplayable...
Could have been that individual setup but other games worked fine.

Has anything new been revealed about this? "Otomedius Excellent" was already mentioned in the main Otomedius thread.
Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.
I hate all this shit about DLC, goddamit
I'm paying for the full game, I don't want to have to download stuff that should already be in the disc in the first place.

There is a way to do so. Just use a xbox with the xploit and you will have all the acces to those archives all the way you want.Kollision wrote:I hate all this shit about DLC, goddamit

Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.
I don't think Otomedius is as bad as everyone says it is. It's not great either, but it's fun to play every now & then. But even so, I do think $60 is too much for it at this point. Unless the US version has all the DLC included, I wouldn't recommend getting it at full price.
I'm pretty sure it was the set up, because I own the game and have played it quite a bit, and I've never noticed any input lag.Jockel wrote:...the input lag is so horrible and makes the game borderline unplayable...
I think that would only work if the content is actually on the disk already.Phellan Wolf wrote:There is a way to do so. Just use a xbox with the xploit and you will have all the acces to those archives all the way you want.

Also, why are they releasing it a week before Halo:Reach? If they want to have a hope of anyone other than us buying it, they need to move the release date.
Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.
Joe Blow buying Halo:Reach probably doesn't give a shit about Otomedius. :/Exarion wrote:Also, why are they releasing it a week before Halo:Reach? If they want to have a hope of anyone other than us buying it, they need to move the release date.
Since I'm posting I'll just say that I'm happy Konami is bringing this to the states. I'll snag it eventually one way or another, since I'm a Gradius fucknut. From my impression, Otomedius is kind of tame for it's kind but I figure there are always difficulty sliders and loops to conquer. Also measely american scores... er, wait.

Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.
My friend bought a used copy of the original J360 release and I borrowed it from him for a week or two. Unless I missed something about it, I found the experience overall entirely awful. Even the feature of being able to molest the characters turned out to be nothing more than clicking on a static image and hearing a soundbite. Doing so 500 something times for an achievement has "Ah PuniPuni" or something to that effect from the green haired rabbit girl looping in my subconscious mind.
That said I'll probably pay full price for the US version in hopes Konami brings more strange games over to the US.
I wonder if we will get a hilarious value-game looking cover that disguises what the game is all about like what Ubisoft did with the original Senko No Ronde. That cover is amazing in how bad it is.

If I am not mistaken it did well in Japan, you know it has boobs and tits....Vyxx wrote:Of all the awesomeness Konami could have done, they bring this garbage?

IMHO it is not that bad, it could have been much better but they decided to stick to the same old formula.
However charging 60$ for this game is a steal, even if the dlc is included. This time around NA gamers should be happy, you are getting almost every shooting game for Xbox 360.

Which would be weird, since all the other games were fine.Cuilan wrote:I'm pretty sure it was the set up, because I own the game and have played it quite a bit, and I've never noticed any input lag.Jockel wrote:...the input lag is so horrible and makes the game borderline unplayable...
And still, that only upgrades the experience from "unplayable" to "mediocre" at best ;(
Nah you can download any DLC and put it on the HDD and it will work.Cuilan wrote:I think that would only work if the content is actually on the disk already.Phellan Wolf wrote:There is a way to do so. And funny enough, it can't let you access the "DLC" that's already on the disc by itself,
you'd still have to download and install the key files just like any other user (well only that you don't have to pay for it xD)

Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.
Old news, but pre-orders are up at Gamestop. I just reserved mine when I went in for DS. They have it listed as "Otomedius Excellent". I would laugh my ass off if it was more expensive than Deathsmiles with the faceplate and whatnot.

I thought it was: if memory serves Otomedius is 60 while DeathSmiles' "LE" is 50. Or am I wrong?Damocles wrote:I would laugh my ass off if it was more expensive than Deathsmiles with the faceplate and whatnot.
Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.
Really curious on what the box art's gonna be for this one. Any change will tell lots about how they plan on marketing this thing. I have a feeling they'll go the lazy and make it the same as the jpn release since it wasn't very risque in the first place.
Given how mediocre this game is, I hope it goes the path of Wartech so I can pick up a new copy for under $10.

It will be cheap soon enough. Besides Wartech, see also Shiki III on the Wii and how Raiden IV is starting to drop to bargain-bin prices.

Famitsu has article on Otomedius X Excellent this week, guess they plan to (re)release it in Japan aswell, maybe it's rather enhanced version of Gorgeous or completely new game.
Re: Konami brings Otomedius Deluxe (Xbox 360) to U.S.

This Fall, says article...I'm guessing late September, it's probably same version that will hit western shores at the same time.Phellan Wolf wrote: And when is it supposed to hit the japanese shelves?
If all the DLC is included I will sriously consider picking it up.
