Strikers 1945 free online flash game.

I just discovered this game today when i was trolling on google, and its actually a decent arcade conversion. I don't know how long this game has been there, so im just wondering if anyone else here has completed it already because i found it to be pretty tough going even though my skills are pretty useless playing on a keyboard.
Are there any other decent arcade flash games out there?

Really, or are you just saying that because your dogshit skills are not good enough to handle a basic flash game lmao. For a flash game, its more than decent enough graphically and playablity wise.
Just had a few games of Raiden 2, but i found the graphics kinda cartoon like and too easy playablity wise. Pacman on google was pretty cool while it lasted.
Ps, Strikers 1945 flash game difficulty rank seems to vary on different online sites. I first played it on Y8.com where the enemy bullet speed is more like Strikers 1945 plus very slow. Other sites the speed is just plain silly and not much fun.

Other than that Udderdude is pretty spot on, this game looks and plays more like 1942 than a Strikers game. I really enjoyed the double-width bullet column that you can't fit between at the first boss, it's just like Strikers!

Funnily enough, bullet visibility is better and bomb activation time is faster here than in the original Strikers games.

That is because its A FLASH GAME YOU IDIOT!
No flash arcade game can ever be as perfectly accurate to the original arcade visuals and gameplay unless the game itself utilizes really basic graphics ie; PACMAN, which is why i stated that Strikers1945 is as decent you can get for flash game standards visually and gameplay wise. If either yourself, or Udderdumberdude know of flash game that absolutely arcade perfect, i wanna know about it here.

Manage to reach 2nd boss of stage 3 which the stage itself is pretty tough going. You need to hover around the lower part of screen to keep game difficulty rank to minimum and for slowdown which helps if you dont have a joystick or joypad to play this game skillfully.

It seems ok - except there seems to be some problem with the controls as sometimes when I tap a direction my plane ends up flying in said direction and not stopping. Seems the game doesn't always recognise when I release a key.

That said the mirrored backgrounds are a thing of beauty

Yeah the game is a bit random sometimes. I started one game with full firepower and autofire without touching the fire button. If i was playing this on a 15in laptop instead of my 9in Del netbook, i would have probably reached the end by now. its just so damn fiddly playing on a key pad.

i too have noticed that the quality of flash games has got alot better recently. Still my favorite browser shmup is still Keim's Arcanacra Black Label which isnt a flash shmup but Java. Its a shame that more ppl who play browser games dont play it but the fact that its been out awhile and no longer works on IE and even though it works in other browsers like firefox that the online leaderboards no longer works.

Shame keim isnt that active in making games as he made a handfull of really fun games.

Not worth it really considering that i posted a topic here ages ago (probably a few months back now) enquiring about flash games and didn't get any useful help, and then just by blind luck when i was trolling on google, i came cross Strikers1945 on Y8.com.
Forum member Aguraki is right in saying that there are not enough elite gamers here that can contribute useful info from time to time. Think i should make it my mission to find a better shumps forum to sign up so that i can say good riddance to this forum.

By the way i just played that xevious java shmup. It pritty good for a browser game especially since i can play the game in a area larger then a postage stamp like you get with flash shmups. certainly very hectic especially at the start but once you get past the first part with the ground units after that its just a continued onslaught of air baddies which due to lasting for so long becomes strangly enjoyable when u get into a groove. Keim's Nomltest is exactly the same.
THX Spadgy for linking such a cool little game. Once again it proves that java is a much better platform to use for making fast paced games, shame you dont see that many of them and those that do usually are under most ppls radar unlike flash

BTW does the game only have one long stage or is there multiple stages? Its been along time since iver played or watched a original xevious game so i cant remember what the stages in the original were like.

I'm a fan of being positive and proactive though, so let's see how many we can assemble in this thread, and when its timely and doesn't whip the rug out from under mills' thread, I'll post a new thread listing Flash shmups. You have to plug away and be committed to establish decent and useful threads here. sven666's DVD and VHS list or Elixir's effort with his Japanese Xbox 360 guide (or most of the high scores/strategy) are great examples.

This forum does have a few 'elites' about, and plenty of newcomers, but most of us seem to fit into the middle of those two extremes, and between us we have a huge amount of shared knowledge and have created some pretty amazing resources. With a bit of effort, we can keep that up.

And nice one on red plane Aguraki. The name of that pair rings a bell, but I don't remember playing it.

Played both Zerowing (2nd stage boss) and Aero Fighters (5th stage) from the site. i was real surprised about how true to the original aracde games these two games were to play. Only let down was the major slowdown in both games.

Well, I did not like it that much. While it is pretty cool, but seriously. Why are backgrounds mirrored? The left side is identical to right side. Also, for me the background went back to the beginning when I was on boss.

Anyway, it is not horribad, but it is not good either.
