I was looking at the preorder page here and someone made this comment
When this game comes out i'm getting it on the midnight release. it looks great just hope it plays even better.
Are they really going to do a midnight release for this game? Or maybe it just coincides with another, more popular (actually worth leaving the stores open for them) release?

Perhaps he lives near a 24 hour joint.

Indeed. I'll be impressed enough if my local Gamestop receives any copies of it. The only midnight releases I can recall were for Halo and WoW.

Thank goodness for online ordering. It'll be a bitch waiting a week while others talk about how they're doing in the game, but I can deal. I'll be picking up Espgaluda II hopefully in a week or two to ease my jealousy.

God no. At least as far as Gamestop is concerned, for a midnight release to even be considered, a store has to have at least 80 reserves on a single title. Then it's up to the manager of the store. If that guy lives in an area where 80 people reserved Death Smiles, I want to know where he is.

Boy is that guy going to be disappointed when he drives to a Gamestop in the middle of the night and it's pitch black.

I wonder if there are even 80 reserves for this across the entire country.

I asked at mine a day or two ago and I am still the only preorder at the location.

I vote for only two thumbs up. That is the worst fucking tagline I've ever heard in my fucking life. The rest of it looks fine.

I thumbed up precisely the tagline. It takes a good amount of lightheartedness (and balls) to take the most dubious aspect of the game straight into the tagline, and in such a hilarious way. :D

The rest is just good. But this? This is the best.

The packaging and presentation for Aksys' two previous 360 LEs (Blazblue and Agarest) were both superb and I have high expectations for Deathsmiles' release. As far as the tag line goes...they're calling a spade a spade. Really pleased about the included Faceplate. Faceplates in general seemed like such a great idea for pre-orders or LEs, but have become next to nonexistent since around 2007 (strangely they were ALL over the place for that year and that year only).

Really hoping it sells well and Aksys brings over more Shmups. I've roped in about 4 people from my friends list to buying a copy of the game that hadn't heard of it previously.

I agree - I'd much rather a publisher has a little fun with offbeat subject matter, as opposed to acting all ashamed of it and Mobile Light Forcing it up.

I don't see how using otaku shitbag jargon to advertise a game translates to "having fun with the subject material." I don't see how its "hilarious," its just tacky and really embarassing that they'll sink to show disregard for the original presentation. In all of the Japanese materials and in the game itself, the subject material isn't really very light-hearted, its pretty dark and violent, and I like it more that way. Now they're trying to play it up for fans of people who watch fucking Bleach and Naruto or something. Anyway, I'm done, this isn't going to accomplish anything anyhow.

Well, I mean, I love the game, but look at it. It's not fooling anyone.
In Japan this may be normal stuff, but over here people are gonna be like "what's up with the little girls?". So hey, i'd just be like "yup, it has lolis".
One thing that irks me, is that my friends will see the game, and be like "is this for girls?". I have to point out that it's a fetish, and it's not for little girls. So, saying it's pervy, rather than for little girls makes me less embarrassed to show it off. So sad.

Oh yeah, I always hear about a "bath scene" in this game. I haven't come across it. I think it belongs to the big tittied 14 yr old. I don't think I have beaten the game with her yet.

What's up with this scene?

Its a static image for one of Follet's endings with all the characters in a bath. Had I not beaten the game 10 times for an achievement related to seeing that ending 10 times, I wouldn't remember it at all. Not that saucy, though it probably is the reason the game got a "partial nudity" rating on the back of the box.

Here-here! Another fine example of why Aksys is becoming my favourite NA publisher. So rare to find a company that "get's it".

I know that EOJ said that MegaBlacklabel 1.1 it is going to be included in the NA release but as far as I can read from the pictures that Starcreator has posted the main box only mentions MegaBlackLabel, so are they going to include the last DLC or not?? I hope so since Aksys always give to fans the best value for their games.

I'm content to just take it as read, but if you want to confirm it you can reach Cherie Baker, Aksys Games PR rep at cherie@aksysgames.com.

It's really not any more tacky or embarrassing than the game itself. They're playing it up to the people that loli shit was put in the game to appeal to.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.
