Okay people, I'm planning on getting my slimline PS2 modded in the near future so that I can play Mushihimesama. I'd appreciate any comments on which chips are the best and most reliable, as well as anything else I should be aware of (laser fix, etc.). Thanks in advance.

Good luck. If you are doing it yourself, I hope your REALLY good at soldering. Lost 2 PS2's in the process of getting mine done.
Seems V7's may be the easier of the bunch to do.
V10+'s are what the laser fix is for.
V1's are hell.

Nah, I don't plan on doing it myself. Actually, that brings up another point -- any recommendations for reputable installers in the US or Canada?

It's best to go to an independent games shop to get it done, rather than the dodgy bloke at the local market (even if it is more expensive)
