Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone else has an RGB scart modded PC Engine and an XRGB-2 that might have tried the two together? They seem incompatible unless I'm doing something wrong. The picture is blood red and the image is bendy and rolls a lot.
Any idea why this wouldn't work at all?
Thanks guys.

I assume the obvious that an XRGB2 is a JP configuration scart and not a Euro one?
The red screen is reported to come up when inserting a euro scart into a XRGB2 which is configured for the Japanese pinout.

Ah I see, thanks Richie. I guess that means that my PCE console is hardwired with a Euro scart then? It did come with an extension 'booster' cable, which doesn't make any difference on the XRGB-2, but regardless it looks pretty amazing directly plugged into the LCD. I was just hoping I could improve the image even further.neorichieb1971 wrote:I assume the obvious that an XRGB2 is a JP configuration scart and not a Euro one?

You should check your XRGB with a another RGB source immediately. I know a dozen XRGB which got blown by their users by using a Euro Scart RGB plug on them...

Shit, really? I think someone actually mentioned this before and I only just remembered now you mentioned it.Fudoh wrote:You should check your XRGB with a another RGB source immediately. I know a dozen XRGB which got blown by their users by using a Euro Scart RGB plug on them...
Well it's fine as of this morning anyway, plugged in Yoshi's Island and didn't notice a hitch. I had the euro scart (well, that's what we're assuming it is) in it for a fair while yesterday though.
Was it the XRGB that got blown or the XRGB-2?
Still, good to know.
(BTW, if anyone wants to demonstrate an XRGB-2 to anyone, show them Yoshi's Island. It's mindblowing.)

mainly 2plus and 3 units. Possibly the original 2 (non plus) is more resistent in this aspect. Was it the XRGB that got blown or the XRGB-2?

Skykid,
Just get someone here to make a female to male adapter for the PCE.
PCE cable > Female scart - Male SCART > outputs JP21 configuration > XRGB.

Interesting, do you happen to know someone with the skills? The thing is the PCE already has an RGB 'booster' extension on it - will it still work with two extensions?neorichieb1971 wrote:Skykid,
