Are you using the latest version of MAME? I tried it just now with ver 0.102, and it runs slow as hell (AMD 4000+, 2048 MB RAM).

BLOODY - Yes Egzerg and PCB :D .
A real nice game once you understand whats going on. I suppose its best to try to contain your medals to one vertical area of the screen, so that you're not acting like a juggler with too much to do.

Knowing when to use the special Awakening attack is also key to good scoring, as it has the benefits of making you invincible, keeping you in Mech Form, and tripling your speed, making it easier to amass and collect lots of Medals. The powerdown that results is small change if you can manage your Power and Guard bars carefully.

Don't know how you guys play as the Egzerg though. Even though the Egzerg has good speed, range and power, I've always had better results playing as the Tia Riel (central selection, with the Pilum as the melee weapon). ^_-

that score was gotten using wolfmame (unsure of the version number. it was the most current one 3 months ago). mame32 runs like shit on my home pc (P4 1.8Ghz, 512 Ram) so i switched. i got a bit better performance.

thing is though, on school computers, using Mame32, i can run the game full speed. at home, even using wolf (the faster of the two), i play at an average of 25fps. :P

i guess PS1 style graphics are just too much for my aging machine...

hopefully i can get better parts soon. that way brave blade full speed, far cry, thief, half life 2, fear, painkiller... excuse me, "i'll be in my bunk" -Jayne

You can fly behind the enemys and beat them. The Medallions are flying in the Charackter. Is a good Tactic in some Stages.

again a promise to do better.

captain ahar - 17,201620 - Stage 4 - Gay Bolk - MAME

my first time playing with this ship, and i love the reach. i missed TONS of medals, because i am not used to having no weapon coverage on my sides.

and i don't know why, but now the same version of wolfmame is running this game at an average of 45 fps.

The last boss, whom I like to call Seraphic Armor, is a total git to fight against. Hope you guys enjoy battling it, as it has some of the most enjoyable patterns outside of Battle Garegga's last two bosses ^_-

I'll probably hop in here at some point. Just a little busy with coursework though, hence the lack of score posts lately. -_-;;

DEL - 42,389,620 - ST7 - Egzerg

I'll take a photo of the score this weekend and post it here.

I think I've figured a basic way to get the 1CC alternating between (A) shot and (B) Barrier on the last 'Golden' form of the Artificial Seraph. It'll be very fiddly though! :?

Congratulations on the 1CC zlk! That Last Boss is a nasty one.
Not sure if I know how to play your replay file, I tried using IZarc and Media Classic but no joy.
