Whenever you kill an enemy in the arcade version, the screen briefly flashes red.

I'm guessing he milked the last boss. Destroy all of its parts and the flying skulls, then suicide at the last moment; lather, rinse, and repeat.

Yes indeed.
You can get more than 200.000 points by doing that, also gaining 2 extra lives.

And this actually makes the HS board for MD Zero Wing useless.

I could set up a rule to refrain from milking as much as you can, at least to keep a competition going. Looking at the score and stage reached, it's easy to tell who's milking. I'd have to remove Kollision and iatneH scores if you guys are okay with it.

I am SO goddamn close to beating the whole loop of the arcade version...but one death at the wrong place is all it takes to end your run. I know how to manage every spot now so it's only a matter of time. The replay should be fun to watch.

Hmmm, one day I plan to get a big record for this, but do not expect me to post one unless it's still my personal record. But if I do, NO.

Finally decided to sit down for longer than 10 minutes with this last night and learn it a little, this game is hard as hell once you die, I dare say it's impossible to come back if you were to die in most spots past stage 3.

I used a joystick that has an autofire function, dono what to do about "delay"

On another note since you seem to know a lot about this Ruldra(warp spot in other topic for example), could you possibly explain how the hell I got a 10up in stage 2? I didn't die until the shifting pipes part of stage 2 and I had been collecting all the speed ups and powering up my green shot.

This game has some random bonuses and the 10up is one of them. There's nothing you can do to trigger it, just keep picking up those powerups while maxed out and hope it appears.

Wow that is cruel, my first serious run of this game I get a 10up and ruin it by dying repeatedly on stage 3

Dono if it helps really but my autofire allows for 10 presses per second which is what I use in this game
