19xx & 1944 xbox Live?
Some dude at gamestop was telling me that 19xx and 1944 will be on xbox live soon? Anybody else hear about this? I can't find anything about it?

I question the knowledge of anyone who works at gamestop.

That would be cool but i doubt it. The closest thing to 19xx is 1942JS. If i remember correctly formations are ripped right from the game as well as 90% of everything in that game.

Some drunk hobo told me Muchi Muchi Pork will come out for Nintendo. Anybody else head about this?
Re: 19xx & 1944 xbox Live?
In the guys defense, now that I remember correctly he did say they "might" be coming to XBL. Just wish both of those games would of been on one of the Capcom Classics collections in the first place instead of some of the crap games they did decide to put on those?

Re: 19xx & 1944 xbox Live?
I heard someone say they'd port Battle Bakraid to Wii with Wiimote controls.

Most Gamestop employees can barely tell that there was once a Playstation 1, let alone arcade games that aren't Dance Dance Revolution.

No the guy wasn't some kid, he was a oldschool gamer. (probably the manger) I was buying a minty copy of Capcom classics vol2 for ps2 because I only had a copy of the xbox version, and he mentioned how he liked Varth. So thats how 19xx and 1944 got brought up. Seemed like cool enough guy.

Of course. There are plenty of people who work at game stop who actually know what a good video game is, and maybe even some who play shmups.
Of course for every one of those you have three 'Bro' gamers and two grew-up-on-nintendo-and-know-nothing-else kids working there.

Oh yeah, there are some people who work at those places that barely know what a Genesis or even what a Saturn or Dreamcast is.Mad Mage wrote:Of course. There are plenty of people who work at game stop who actually know what a good video game is, and maybe even some who play shmups.

One of the Gamestops near me has not one, but two psuedo-intelligent riot grrl vegan types who seem to absolutely despise video games. All they do is bitch about the martyrdom involved with working excessive hours at Gamestop and make glib remarks to the customers (many of which, granted, are deserved). Goes to show that some people should think twice before getting a shitload of ugly tattoos and piercings before going on job interviews.

The manager at my local gamestop absolutely loves shmups.
He was actually the one that tipped my off about Mushi being region free.
He actually wanted to come over once cause I have all the PS2 shmups available.

I used top work at game stop. I'm probably not the only one here. I can vouch that there are nice, smart people who work there and even some who know what a shmup is. But yeah, I can't blame people for being jaded at the bulk of Game Stops employees.

I'm guessing it's store policy to always ask customers that kind of stuff.
Regardless, it leads to funny scenarios where the same person buying an obscure used shmup is asked if he/she wants to reserve CoD/Madden '11/whathaveyou.

It is store policy. I used to manage a store a long time ago and corporate will come down on you hard if staff doesn't push used/preorders/subs. I didn't last long because I just wanted to help people find games they liked.gs68 wrote:I'm guessing it's store policy to always ask customers that kind of stuff.
