Milestone has some upcoming Wii releases. Radirgy Noah in Japan, and Illvelo in NA.

G-Rev has Senko no Ronde 2 coming to 360, if that counts. I haven't heard anything about their other new mecha game in a while now.

Did we ever get any screens of Trouble Witches/Strike Witches? Is it really a shmup?

Next unconfirmed loli shooters include Simon/Sky Girls/Fly Girls/Raimuiro Senkitan/Sora no Woto etc etc

I was under the impression that Strike Witches and Trouble Witches were different games...

Yeah your totally right, they are unrelated franchises. Trouble Witches is a doujin with what you would expect from anime-styled witches, big hats and brooms. Strike Witches are the mecha nekomimis.

On a serious not I haven't seen any Strike Witches screen-shots, so until then whatevers.

RayStorm HD should get a date/release anytime now. I wonder what's taking so long.

Not looking too exciting outside of the Cave camp. I can't count either of those "Witch" games until we see some evidence that they are even shmups. So far we are looking at

King of Fighters Sky Stages
Raystorm HD
Illvelo
Radirgy Noah
SeisouKouki Strania (New G-Rev)

This thread is a good reminder that Cave is more or less keeping the genre alive. So basically if you care at all about the future of shmups then you should probably be showing support (regardless of which region their games are in). And people complain about how 75% of the topics are Cave related

A genre with a 30+ year history needs to be "75%" focused on now now now (clearly, 2D shooters are cutting edge).

I don't see that coming.
As long as there are fratboys i don't see the FPS and duck-and-cover shooters dying soon.

Yeah, completely agree. No point in dwelling too much in the past for a genre that is still developing :D

It's this focus that stops shmups.system11.org from being yet another 'retro games' site #vomit.

I'm looking forward to Senko DUO and that other G.Rev game at the moment. The current Cave deluge is varigated enough to avoid stagnation, but it'll be nice to try something a little different :)

Why do you think your preferred genre of time-wasting activity is any more valid than other genres of time-wasting activities?

Sorry for hijacking this but I couldn't resist - so I'll answer the question for him.

I'd rather play footari or RayCrisis by myself for the 1,000,000th time than play CoD or u madden with fratboys for the 100th time.

So, you don't like the old-time games, huh?

I'm also finding it pretty odd that there's still no release date for RayStorm HD, given that videos of a very complete-looking build have been kicking around for ages, but at this point I don't want to see one. Just surprise us. Soon plz.

Edit: ach! Didn't see Elixir's post. Cool! Pity I won't be able to buy a decent monitor to play it on by the 24th. My current 360 display is atrocious.

There's still hope in xbox indie games. Something good has to come along eventually. Duality zf, Shoot 1up, and Judicator all look good enough to warrant attention.
