Im against this petition, I think that they should keep it for japanese xbox 360. A true shmupper would be willing to buy a new 360 just so that he can play a few shooting games. I strongly stand beside my words.

I personally think there's more value in finding a western company to partner with Cave, or at least commit to localising each game (and please, don't forget the PAL gamers like me! I still don't have Raiden 4 yet!). And by "localise", I mean throw a few English menus in where necessary, and not butcher graphics/stills/covers like certain titles that shall remain nameless.

All the same, I'll sign this as a "close enough", because I bought Mushihime-sama Futari the moment I heard it was region free, and will do the same for any other shooter from this point forward.

i'll sign up. really loving mushihimesama futuri and the chance of getting a few more over here, or at least region free is too good to pass at, even with the high price of importing at the moment.

If they will retain the region lock they better find a PAL and NTSC-U publisher.

First post going to a very worthy cause i feel. It would be great to play modern day shmups without having to own an imported console. Although the PS3 is region free, there isn't any shmups I know of on the system bar a few for download on PSN. 1942, Riff:Everyday shooter, Stardust HD, Blast Factor, Pixeljunk Shooter. hardly a mouth watering selection :S The 360 on the other hand has quite a few but purely in Japan from what I can see...

Anyhow, in this modern day of gaming and entertanment I don't feel games should have a region lock, so sign me up.

3)We might wake up tomorrow in an alternate dimension where unsolicited internet petitions consisting of ~100 random "signatures" actually work.

Futari's sales spoke 1 million times louder than any online petition will.
Same arguments people always come out with about online petitions and so on, I thought they were going to write it all out and send it to Cave?

Regardless - doing nothing and just 'telling it like it is' will most certainly achieve nothing. Sending it cannot possibly make the situation worse, therefore - it makes sense to type out the 10-20 characters and hit send.
that what i couldnt get, it takes more effort to tell us a pertition isnt worth it then type out 3 words :)

Actually I was expecting you guys would copy the signatures from this thread and put them into your topic on shmup.com, I think everyone here who signed it was under that impression too.

It doesn't make any sense to have /two/ petitions, after all. Neither does it make any sense expecting a couple hundred people to sign up to a forum just to make a 20 character post.

Unfortunately, your thread requires too much personal information. For example, name, date of birth and email are enough to do a 'forgotten password' request on some websites. I would advise people not to openly post that much anywhere. Sadly this is the world we live in.

Regarding the required informations (name, e-mail adress), it's an obligation but it will give even more credibility to this petition.

Cheers !
I'd have to look into it more closely, but I think to gather and post that information publicly in the USA would be illegal in some states. There are a lot of new PII (personally identifiable information) laws going into effect that prohibit this.

There are also some such laws in the EU.

At any rate it's a really bad idea to sign in this manner and I would recommend against it to everyone, especially for something this fruitless to begin with.

Those laws (prospective and real) apply to other people posting your information, in this case the people are posting it of their own accord for the express purpose of it being posted to Cave.
