Darius Burst announced for PSP
Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
Do we have a list anywhere of how to unlock the various hidden stuff?
Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
Beat Arcade Mode once (continue is okay) and you'll get Silverhawk Next. Beat it again on a different route and you'll get Mission Mode. Beat it a third time on yet a different route and you'll unlock Burst Mode. Beat that mode to get Silverhawk Origin.bcass wrote:Do we have a list anywhere of how to unlock the various hidden stuff?
Beat various levels in Mission Mode to unlock galleries, etc.
Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
Cheers. That's all fairly straight-forward enough!
Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
Holy shit, this makes the bosses so much easier! It was taking me ages to kill the last bosses until I tried this.guigui wrote:Am I the only one to have not noticed until yesterday that you can actually DROP the burst unit in some place and DIRECT its shot, WHILE keeping shooting and moving ?
For those in my case :
Double tap the burst button will drop the burst unit where you are, it will begin to fire. While the burst unit is dropped you may :
-Let go of the fire button, the orientation of the burst unit follows your ship.
-Maintain the fire button, the orientation of the burst unit remains fixed.
-Press the burst button, the burst unit returns to your ship.
Do we have any sales figures for this? I hope it's done well. A 360 version could be sublime.

Well, it was announced like half a year ago so it shouldn't come as a surprise...
Does anyone know if glutton times out or not? There is some serious milking to be done if he doesn't.

Could it have something to do with the number of enemies on screen? That's the only thing I can think of.Voxbox wrote:I'm not correct on this one. If I'm correct that is.
Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
I doubt it since I haven't found any boss timing out during my testings. For example I've watched Mirage Castle for 23 rotations.Dragoforce wrote:Does anyone know if glutton times out or not? There is some serious milking to be done if he doesn't.
Generally I don't believe much in milking in this game, as taking a single hit can costs you around 500k, and milking not giving so much. It's a risk-reward ratio I'm not confortable with.
Good thinking. I'll check that out tomorrow!Dragoforce wrote:Could it have something to do with the number of enemies on screen? That's the only thing I can think of.

One of the stages in Mission Mode where you fight him actually has music from Syvalion.

I'm pretty thrilled about this, but Darius games always kind of let me down. It sounds awesome at first that the bosses are giant marine animals, but you can only fight so many coelacanths before you get a bit bored. Plus the last bosses tend to be a bit underwhelming. End it on something huge and crazy like space robot kraken or a giant isopod or something, right?
Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
Darius game are somewhat of cult games considering about 3 games are really good and the rest are average (still fun tough). its one of those unpopular games that keep respawning with new ports, like weed.but Darius games always kind of let me down.
Many bosses are quite overwhelming specially with the game's music, special mention to Great Thing which is half whale and half cannon-fortress. And if you dont get impressed by their looks (Storm Causer) you'll get impressed by their cheap attacks.End it on something huge and crazy like space robot kraken or a giant isopod or something, right?

Is the thing on the bottom left of your first picture a poster flag?

How many pages are in the book? Could you tell us a little about the contents?
No, it's a Tenugui.Klatrymadon wrote:Is the thing on the bottom left of your first picture a poster flag?

This game is really fun. I am fan of the series and this one is a really good come back. I just wish that Taito (well Square Enix for the matter) released a Xbox 360 version, I hate that PsP Dpad.

Ah, of course! I should have remembered that the towel was announced as part of the package. Still, how awesome would a Darius textile poster be?CIT wrote:

I'm sure he does want to sell it, mate. The limited edition release wasn't exactly inexpensive at the pre-ordering stage...

Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
I think someone here said it was going for 150 dollars. 30,000 yen is over 300 dollars, though! Pretty mad, yeah.
Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
So, has anyone tried to complete mission mode yet ?
So far, I have completed all first 3 levels. I cant beat the last mission of level 4 (3 levels + Great Thing with not fully powered pulse weapon and 16 shields, huuum) and am half way through level 5. Pretty hard job but quite satisfying sometimes.
Missions are just not ordered in a difficulty increasing fashion.

Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
Excellent news! Hopefully I'll finally have a PSP by then...
Re: Darius Burst announced for PSP
But in download form only? Failure. I'm still hoping that P/A will discount the Japanese version of the UMD when they have their next big sale. That would be uber-convenient for me.BulletMagnet wrote:Coming to Europe.

Holy shit, they spelled it as one word. I actually knew this was going to happen.
