List your accomplishments for 2009.
List your accomplishments for 2009.
All right folks, instead of starting one of those silly new year's resolutions (which are teh fail) thread, how about we speak about what we accomplished in this past year? Anything goes, as long as it's positive. No matter how small or silly, as long as it's a goal you managed to meet.
I'll start by sharing that I managed to:
Break away from my family and live on my own, and have less emotional problems. I only regret not doing it before, and seeing they were a bunch of jerks anyway.
Saved over 5K in the bank.
Get two molars fixed, with top of the line treatment.
Learned to ride my bicycle with no hands on the bar, and without falling off.
Achieved 2 consecutive months with the highest quality rating at work.

- Expanded culinary palette, and began taking an interest in cooking

Pretty eventful year for me, hoping 2010 goes just as well.

Not a very eventful year for me, but better than the last couple for sure.
Got all my bills paid and was able to buy more games than I normally would.
Made it to a shmupmeet/visited friends that moved/mini vacation.
Did pretty well in all my classes.

Pretty uneventful for me.
-Got a PS3, wee.
-Discovered a genre of music that I actually like outside of video game soundtracks! (It's Heavy Metal!) Started listening to and appreciating music more.
-Figured out just what the heck was happening in the movie Primer. I consider that a pretty big accomplishment.
edit: forgot the biggest one!
-Went to see a beautiful night launch of the Space Shuttle back in august
Otherwise just chugging along through college.

Wow, you guys have been busy!

My accomplishments:
- Got braces (again. Last time was when I was a kid and due to a few things, they got kinda messed up later on)
- after many years of wanting to launch my own website I settled for a blog, which has proven to be an excellent creative outlet (mostly games / electronics): http://therealundamned.blogspot.com
- furthered my knowledge of the electronic music genre (by about 4x)
- had my one year wedding anniversary!
- Got my braces off
- had oral implants drilled into my skull (literally)
- got to see some family I'd not seen in a long time

- After 8 years I'm finally single (3 long relationships that overlapped a little)
- Finally got a professional job (not manual labor or retail)
- Hung out in China for a while
- FINALLY had my first one night stand and loved it (I blame those damn long term relationships for putting this off until now)
- Got back into running, lost a good amount of weight
- Made a few new friends
All in all I'm happy with the last year of my life. Hopefully the next year will be better

Oh, I'll be thinking about video games too. I'll probably be lying there telling everyone goodbye... and my last words will be, "Fuck you, Futari Ultra." As I breathe my last, my family's going to wonder what the hell I'm talking about. My best friend will laugh. A lot. Totally worth it.undamned wrote:Serious. Re: List your accomplishments for 2009.
Easily the accomplishment I'm most proud of for 2009 is getting an A in my Ethics in Engineering class. WOW. That was a hard class. I put a lot of effort (in a short amount of time -_-;;) into my term paper and I'm so glad the hard work paid off. I also got an A in my Computer Programming II class which was very challenging. However, that feels more due to luck than anything because I didn't technically get an A, but our professor curves our grades. And he does it rather heavily, it would seem, because I'm still completely shocked I got an A in his class.

I somehow managed to get myself fired as well as dragged into someone else's lawsuit against the company, all within mere days of each other. My 'laying low' skills really failed me in 09.
