Not really; I was just waiting to see how the various salvage efforts went before I started rebuilding my high score threads.

Cool.. If your old one becomes salvageable, I can always junk this one, or we can merge 'em, or whatever. :)

That difficulty 7 score will have to do for now, until I can dig my Saturn out and check my 1CC score on that version.

Well, crap. My Saturn battery died a couple of months back and I didn't have my Oshaberi file backed up. :(

Guess I'll have to hunt down all those damned faeries again...

Damn.. that was a pretty decent score you had listed as well, if I remember right (3/4 loops?)

New Difficulty 7 score for me (for the PS anyway, I think my SS score is still better), in a run that seemed to combine some of my best and worst piloting ever.

2,755,200 – 2.2 – Kid.D (PS Diff 7)

Had to ditch Hanako.. the Spread Gun/Spread Bomb combo is awesome in terms of power, but not having a rear firing gun was just causing too much grief on the Xexex/Cake stage.

Now to open the truly crazy table..

PSX - Normal
1,696,300 - Soitsu - 1-7 - PSX

So close ... thought I was gonna 1CC this on my first try. A few too many "don't stand here while the boss is arriving" moments.

Aaargh..
Played the SFC version through ZSNES this evening as I couldn't be bothered to set up the actual console. Smashed my old score, but I didn't get a chance to record it because..
as I destroyed the 2-4 boss, ZSNES crashed :x

3,2xx,xxx - Soitsu - 2-4

THIS is why emulation sucks..

Apologies if this is too off topic or whatnot, but I just got this game...is there a menu translation or the like anyplace, so I know what I'm doing when I adjust certain options or the like? I'm lousy at Gradius type games, but I might submit a score anyways just for the heck of it.

Also, might you consider score tables for the two "Omake" modes? I only took a quick look at 'em, but they seemed interesting...

There's a FAQ at GameFAQs with a menu translation IIRC.

Just started playing the Saturn version of this over the last week and I'm absolutely bloody loving it. Might as well stick my cacky score up, push myself on to do better at it.

E. Randy Dupre 1,355,400 1-8 Rupa SS

Lost my last life about thirty seconds away from the boss. Poo.

Urgh. I knew I shouldn't have done that. 1:30 this morning, figure I'll have a quick go on this before bed.

Two and a half hours later, I lose my last life as my eyelids droop further and further.

E. Randy Dupre 3,915,600 3-4 Rupa SS

I really need to pay more attention to getting the bonuses. Maybe if I try at a more civilised hour of the day ;)

Aaaand some more. I'm pretty sure that my sudden improvement must be due to my finally having bought an official Japanese Saturn pad, so I've just started using that instead of the nasty, cheap US/UK ones (which I've been lumbered with for ten years, shock horror). Directional control feels so much more precise.

Difficulty 7

E. Randy Dupre 1,467,700 2-1 Rupa SS

This next one, I'm putting up for the hell of it. Seriously doubt that I'm even going to touch this difficulty again (then again, I might - glutton for punishment):

Difficulty 8

E. Randy Dupre 46,000 1-1 Rupa SS :D

I only just realised why I'm scoring significantly lower than you guys - you've got all the fairies, haven't you? Bugger. Going to have to unlock all of those before I make any more serious attempts at score.

Phew...I can finally do my avatar a bit of justice...behold, my first (albeit unimpressive) Parodius 1CC!

BulletMagnet - 2,051,100 - 2-7 - Vic Viper - SS

Difficulty 4.

Score's not that good, but I'm happy enough just to finish the thing on defaults, heh heh.

Can PSP players please confirm that they are using "Normal" difficulty and Hitbox settings, assuming the defaults are screwed in this PSP port as well.
(change to "original" setting? not sure as I don't actually own the PSP version *shock*)

Thx.
