Recommendations for "quick" games.
Re: Recommendations for "quick" games.
The first 20 seconds? I don't think so. All the tracks in GT2 are pretty good, but some are still squarely in "boring intro" phase when the test is over. Drag-u-la starts off with adrenaline stuff and so fits pretty well.

Some rather obvious racing games:
- Death Rally and the Micro Machines series, both combat-oriented overhead games. Micro Machines has more variety and multiplayer races, Death Rally has a good single-player campaign.
- ManiaDrive, a 3D game of very precise and somewhat acrobatic trials against the clock rather than races, that should be great as a competitive challenge; there's an easy to use level editor.
- Super Mario Kart.

For racing, I'd say some variant of Wipeout if you could get your hands on it. It's the perfect cross of the pure speed of F-Zero and the blasting fun of Mario Kart.

Wipeout 3 works split-screen or linked, luv it.
SWY: Games are just for fun

HYDRO THUNDER because HYDRO THUNDER is AWESOME
Jet X20 actually wasn't bad either, it's just not quite a "quick game" like Hydro Thunder might be. The flow is really neat once you get into it.
H2Overdrive looks just as good; if you have it within your vicinity, I'd like to hear about it.

One of the local places here has 4 linked cabinets of this. I'm not all that familiar with Hydro Thunder, but you can definitely see the resemblance between the two. It's kind of expensive to play, so I haven't tried it though...lgb wrote:HYDRO THUNDER because HYDRO THUNDER is AWESOME
