Game stores in the Minneapolis/St Paul area?

Post by FRO »

My wife & I are considering a short weekend trip to the Minneapolis/St Paul area to check out the Mall of America. Does anyone know if there are any decent used game stores in that area that either carry older stuff (8, 16, even 32-bit stuff, especially Saturn) or deal in imports?

I was at the MoA a few weeks ago; there's a random booth set up in the halls that's pretty packed with older video game stuff. Didn't look like there were many bargains though.

I think it was on the third floor but I really have no idea if those things move around or not. Other than that, there's two GameStops, on the 2nd and 3rd floors IIRC. One is a lot bigger and nicer than the other.

That's cool. What about in the M/StP surrounding area, anything else of note?

That's so hilarious there's two Gamestops in a single mall, even if it is a giant one. I'm guessing one used to be an EB.

My local mall is perhaps a third of the size of one floor of the MoA (if that) and we have two GameStops. lol

I don't know about the surrounding area, I don't live near the area and I was down there visiting someone in the hospital so I didn't spend any time exploring the cities.

The Serramonte/280 Metro Colma area has four Gamestops, within a mile or so of each other. It seems the staff gets rotated around each of them.

So there are no mom-and-pop shops or used game stores anywhere? Anyone know of decent thrift stores or pawn shops that have retro games? I know I'm reaching here :D

this is a very common occurance here in NJ, when in actuality i believe there are 3 gamestops in 1 mall.

1 was gamestop
1 was eb
1 was planet-x

Corporate buyouts = fail. 2 Gamestops in the Mall of America is lame. I guess I'll have to poke around in the yellow pages when I get to the hotel :D

Hello, sorry to bump an old thread, but it doesn't appear as if the original question was sufficiently answered.

I am in the St Paul / Minneapolis area right now and I was wondering if anybody knows about any used game stores in the area with older (older than PlayStation 2) games available. Thank you.
