I turned it off after he bombed twice on the first boss.

But at least he's playing shmups, so he just one upped 80% of the forum.

Enlightening as ever, PC Engine Fan X. I had always assumed that Nintendo placed the d-pad on the left because that was the default arcade setup, but now I know the opposite is true. Nintendo seems to set a lot of trends in controller layout. Interestingly, I'm left handed, and could never imagine playing with the d-pad/stick on the right. To me, it's always seemed that the movement mechanism is much more important than the action buttons, so I've always considered myself lucky to be a left-hander (though getting used to the Wii pointer was a bit of a challenge).

Definitely. Those screens are way too big given the distance you're standing from them. Can't be good for one's eyesight either.

going on about joysticks on arcades being lefty and righty

I think it was the dedicated capcom 1945 woody cabinet where the left and right players had symetrical controls pannels where buttons for the p1 on the left followed by the stick for the player 1p then stick for the 2p and then buttons for 2 player (left to right i mean)

Oh no, he called Japan stupid. Alert the internet. I don't particularly care when Japanese people bash other countries (and god knows how much THIS happens), and I don't particularly care when people bash Japan. That said, he does seem like a strange dude. A couple of the rage-filled replies in this thread were funny though.

By the way Rob, what ever happened to all of those Pro Reviews? I see the ones that are still under xoxak, but what happened to all the rest? Certainly some of the most entertaining vids I've seen on Youtube.

I think someone should convince him to come on here and view this thread..... that would be some great flame war bait that would be impossible to turn your head from.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Whatever, that screen is still way too big for the viewing distance. A fact made even more pertinent with low-res games.

I'm surprised people are mentioning he seemed 'strange' , of course he is, everyone was in that film, I think you've got to be a social outcast, semi autistic or completely nerdy to be #1 in the world for a game no-one cares about anymore.

Well, the guy contending for the DK title seemed markedly less strange than the other ones in that film. I'm sure as time goes on though...

True I guess, I wouldn't say he was perfectly normal though. Even his kids were tired of his 'quest'

I think he might lose his family eventually.

I loved (read: cringed at) the bit where two weirdos barge into the guy's house while he's away and take apart his DK machine.
