They've got the contrast set too low.

Hopefully this stuff is just mockup work...there's a big disparity in quality between the BGs and the foreground stuff.

For whatever it's worth, Kotaku says the game will be on PC and XBLA, but I don't know where they got that info, as offhand I don't see anything on the site that mentions this.

They probably got it where they get most of their info: they make it up.

I was under the impression they just got it from other news sites. all of the articles ive ever read have links at the bottom of other news sites which origianly found it, or took it from someone else.

Sega is supposedly working on this as we speak, unless they go full 2D which... actually wouldn't be surprising

I always enjoyed Toki, although I'll admit it's not really that much of a standout game. If this does hit XBLA and it's priced reasonably I'll pick it up.

Looks good. I wish they had done something like this for the new Rocket Knight Adventure.

Hmm... I can't point my finger on it but something about the look bugs me. Aside from that horrible font, that is.
Maybe higher contrast coupled with nice scanlines make it look a bit better.

Ramping up the saturation & contrast would improve things a lot. Toki "Pastel Edition" is dull and lifeless.

Yes, it's duller than CPS games FFS.

I may sound like a weaboo, but perhaps it looks so odd because it has an americanized style to it. Toki looks like Ron Perlman. (Or maybe it's the other way around?)

So, they did get the rights legitimately after all (so they think, they're not 100% sure lol):

link grabbed off the Retrogaming Roundtable.

Perhaps the license was very cheap. TAD isn't Capcom or SEGA you know...
True. I suppose the licensing cost factors in, but I don't know. I wouldn't have chosen Toki as the first game to showcase my talents as an "HD Remix" kind of company, you know?

After reading that interview, it's pretty clear why Toki was chosen (the head of this new team was involved already in the Amiga port).

^^ Well, then, that makes perfect sense. Speaking of Amiga, how cool would it be to see some classic Amiga games get an HD remix w/ that treatment?

Joe and Mac - CaveMan Ninja.

G-mode holds the rights to both games so it proberly one of the two.

Me thinks its Joe and Mac or Midnight Resistance from the leftfield :)

No.

The interview states its a G-mode license and a co-op game.

Chelnov Atomic Runner rights are held by Paon a company setup by ex DataEast employees.

G-mode selected DE history of games.

That's definitely good news! I think this looks amazing! I love the original; the Lynx port is my favorite-the NES port stinks, too much flicker.
