Could someone tell me which of these two ABII ports is the closest to arcade-perfect? I've heard good things about both the SS Ages and DC Yu Suzuki Game Works versions. Either would be a snap to get, so it's just down to port quality for me.
Also, does anyone know if SS ABII is affected by the same issues as Ages OutRun's first print (ie, doesn't like some Saturn models)? Thanks for any help!

I have the DC Game Works version. It's as smooth as butter, sounds like I remember, and overall of there are any differences between this and the coin-op then I can't notice them.

I have both.... the only reason I prefer the saturn port is due to the low res. The DC port is line doubled with no scanlines.
The saturn version has the option for slightly enhanced music tracks to if I am remembering right. Both support analog controller support.
Really boils down to if you want the scanlines/true low res or not.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Awesome, thanks to you both. Sounds like I might go with the SS version, since I'm not too bothered about the other YS GW titles.
From a quick look around Satakore, looks like I'm in luck. ABII doesn't seem to have the problem with certain Saturns OutRun and Space Harrier's early prints do.

I see this got a US release on Saturn as "Sega Ages" w/ Outrun and Space Harrier- is this the version you're referring to? If so, I just might pick this up as I've been thinking about it for a while. Space Harrier on Saturn FTW!Strider77 wrote:I have both.... the only reason I prefer the saturn port is due to the low res. The DC port is line doubled with no scanlines.

Japan got separate releases.
USA got a one disc compilation.
The USA version had music tracks missing from all the games because there simply wasn't enough room. On the Japanese releases each disc had tons of extras since the game took a very small amount of the disc up. The music however, took lots of it.
