For ones I got the 800k no miss bonus from lvl4. Died ones on lvl5 trying the highpoint turret chaining .. 2 idiotic losts on 2-1, I really have too get more practice handling those suicide bullets.

It doesn't feel to distant too start dreaming about 2M million bonuses on lvl5 and lvl2-1 8)

The capacity bonus for levels 2-1 and onward is 5M. If you are in position to get the 5M bonus, the 2-1 boss's final attack is going to be surprising to say the least. For the 2M 1-5 capacity bonus, the boss's final attack is also not easy to deal with. :D

Here are what world class players score in donpachi at the end of each level for the first five stages:

stage 1 1.5M
stage 2 5M
stage 3 10M
stage 4 16M
stage 5 28M

Yeah right 5M for every second round stage.. hm, the final attacks, thats some bad news.. but thinking of rank, it's not really a surprise.

Nice stage info, just for fun some comparison between your world class data and my last score (approx) :D

_________WORLD___ME____%
Stage 1__1.5M __1.3M____87
Stage 2__5M_____4M_____80
Stage 3_10M_____7M_____70
Stage 4_16M____10M_____62
Stage 5_28M____13M_____46

lots of more points to get
But I really wonder how people can get 12M on stage five! impressive

It's kind of quiet here! too bad ...
Anyway i've been taking some time off from DonPa giving priority to some important real life stuff

Soon I'm going for the 1-5, 2-1 capacity bonuses, but as stated by zlk it has been much harder than I first thought. Just keep playing I guess..

just for the sake of progression data, played a couple of times two weeks ago getting:

Yes, DonPachi has the fiercest rank system of the whole series, as it's basically only an increase of difficulty and once you switch to very hard, the difficulty is actually "very very hard", so to speak. The consistent gap between the difficulty level and thus the rank variation makes the transition much more traumatic...in this regard, DOJ takes more elements from DP than DDP, i'd say.

Improved myself a little:

BulletMagnet - 3,800,930 - 1-4 - max hit: 50 - Type C

That fourth level is absolutely insidious...I've managed to one-life it up to that point, but I lose everything within 2 minutes in level 4. Little enemy ships barreling into you from all directions with ZERO warning...suddenly the game turns into a freaking "try it again and again and die repeatedly until you know the area by heart" shmup, a la R-Type. Argh...

My ghetto method of dealing with stage four is to dodge to the edge of the screen at the last minute, then move upward. Using the Type B, rapid fire from the options will destroy any popcorn enemy that is homing in on you. Of course, if you can clear the enemy fire, using the laser will destroy all enemies in the front half of your ship if they hit your aura. Ghetto, but it works.

Argh, still can't clear stage 4...

I've been able to do a little of that, but in a lot of spots it seems that when I head to the left or right side of the screen there's something there just entering to point-blank crash into me...I honestly don't know how I'd ever even get as far as I have on stage 4 with, say, Type A, since it has little to no side protection...well, I'll just keep going until I've memorized where stuff is, I guess...
