Mobile phone roaming bullshit in Europe
International roaming is the mobile industry's version of anal prison rape. But, with an unlocked iPhone, all you need is a Sim card. But, with all those smaller countries scrunched together, I'm curious as to how it works. Do you get ass pounded on roaming going from one European country to the other? If I get a SIM card in Germany and go to England or one of the rather miscellaneous countries, will I be subjected to this bullshit?

The amount of abuse depends on your home phone company, not on national regulations (although roaming charges and pricing tricks will probably vary by foreign country); read the fine print of your plan and expect the worst.GaijinPunch wrote:Do you get ass pounded on roaming going from one European country to the other?
For example, a nice thing Vodafone Italy did to me when traveling to France this year was charging me for the roaming of incoming calls.

I thought that was standard. When I go to the states and use my Japanese call, the difference of incoming and outgoing is miniscule. One is about 115 yen a minute and the other 130 yen a minute. The phones you hire at the airport are just as bad. A total fuck job - unlocked iPhone came in handy on my last trip.
