Seisou Kouki Strania...hardware is undecided, could it be that 360 game Maruyama was talking about at Cave festa...or maybe/probably arcade since it will be playtested at Hey this weekend...
Those screenshots remind me of Cybattler with the sword and multiple weapons, would be pretty awesome to have a modern Cybattler. Not liking the HUD though.
Also, agreed on th Cybattler comment. Now where is my Itano Circus?
edit: don't you guys find ironic that after hearing so much moaning about the lolis and overall 'pussyfication' we are getting this? Obviously, I would assume the pilots are all little girls, lewd young girls (which I guess might be preferred compared to plain lolis) or something like that. Forget about having Kenshiro and the motherfucking fist of the North Star as the pilot.
NOW REACHES THE FATAL ATTRACTION BE DESCRIBED AS "HELLSINKER". DECIDE DESTINATION.
Also, what a classy way to use up the extra space on a widescreen display. Render the graphics but keep the playing field to the center. I like it. Agreed on the HUD, it needs work, but this is probably just a preview at this early point.
Thus, this will be Under Defeat in space, with mechs and kickass music, provided they opt for a Psyvariar-like OST... which I hope will happen. Jazzy techno punchi punchi.

Exciting! I Wonder whats it's running on it looks better then the Naomi(IMHO), but not really type-x2 territory either, I wonder if they could be switching over to the Wii arcade hardware, or would that just be too crazy?

It's not impossible. Maruyama was expressing frustration with MS at the CAVE Matsuri roundtable.
FYI, in the Grev official blog type thing, they talk about this game and say something like "we're not sure if this kind of game will work in today's arcade environment. So for now the platform is undecided."
Well they must have decided it will work in an arcade environment as the second screen has insert coin(s) on it. Maybe its on that new Sega hardware (Ringedge/Ringwire). Probably Type X something though.

Considering that it's being loke-tested at HEY, I'd say that's a pretty safe assumption. Anyways, going to wait for more info on how this thing works before saying much else on it, myself.

Yeah I overlooked that, maybe it'll go KOF Sky Stage route and end up as an XBLA/Arcade game, best for all ...doubt Maruyama would switch to Wii though.
I'm digging the mechs, but I find the useless, darkened space on the edges really quite ugly. If it's a vert game they should just make it tate, but if they're angling for a successful console release, I guess they figured this would be more sellable...

I'm sure thats just showing you the cutoff for 4:3 vs 16:9 display. Taito Type-X2 games typically lets you choose between 720p widescreen or 480p normal screen size.
Not sure why everyone is saying this is going to play like Under Defeat. Sure, the text looks the same and the boss' life bar is in the same place, but otherwise it looks completely different.
I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be a dual stick shooter like Mamaro-kun or Omega 5. The screenshots and enemy placements give me that impression.
