-Japan version of the ROM only
-You need the base rom in addition to the Japanese one
-Be sure to restart/reset after the timer runs down

-people playing Raiden Fighters Aces need to select arcade difficulty
-Autofire allowed (no limit)
-One credit!
-No old scores!

Also, there is an incredibely long bootup sequence when you load the rom for the first time. Just let it run and finish, it happens only the first time. Or, if you think patience is an overrated fad, get the nvram from here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BGUGGH1W (thanks to Ed Oscuro) and put it in the /nvram/ directory of your MAME. It will work on mameplus 0.133, and should work on most others.

For those who want to save some time, here's the nvram that gets written, just put it in \nvram\ in your MAME directory. NOTE: Only guaranteed to work with mameplus_bin_x86-0.133u4r4361-20090830, but it really should work with any of the recent MAME builds since the last change

I notice that turning sound off in MAME Plus! is NOT the same as disabling soun and sound CPUs; no speed increase for updating. It's only like 5 min. on a Core 2 Duo E6600 anyways. Be sure to use Frameskip 10/10, and maybe full speed on top of that (it doesn't seem to make much, if any, difference besides making the speed percentage jump around more than usual though).

How to trigger the big gold medals:

1.) Get the first Slave from the spread shot bomber and note how it arrests the two falling medals
2.) etc. up to a gold, 2megabyte medal that makes a push sound when it absorbs the last medal
3.) Collect
4.) 9 small medals onscreen at the same time
5.) ???
6.) See Figure 1.

Doubt i'm going to play this much more this week as I know this is my limit for this game with miclus (have gotten 104 before i think but i've gotten between 100-103 many many many times) and i don't feel like learning a new ship. Kind of a disappointing week since its a game i've already spent a ton of time with and 1 weeks time is not enough for me to learn a new ship and beat this.
