I also sent them one in native Japanese telling them to stick to the 360 and not go to the PS3 (who cares about region lock, too many eggs on the 360 already) and instead to try for more western releases since there are a lot of fans who will buy but won't import.

I would be really happy if with ESP II they gave it a "arrange mode" that is like the PS2 one, minus the jacked up difficulty and one credit. That really screwed that up.

Well, I was thinking of Death Smiles' 1.1 mode.

I know this has been spoken about in other threads, but just to get it out here now...the general opinion is that ESPGaluda II is very much like Galuda, but is on steroids(i've seen the videos, and it seems hard, but it look amazing- design wise. destroys the first one in this respect), and Mushihimesama Futari is just a much better game than the first one?

My only real concern is that Galuda II may be a bit too hard to be fun. I find DOJ to fall under this, but I haven't played any other Cave games that give me this feeling(not Ibara...but I haven't played Ketsui).

And I have played a lot of Death Smiles, so it seems to fall under "very pleasant surprise".

So, it looks like the 360 will be home to perhaps 3 of Cave's last best games(unless the pull out of the funk they are in with the last two).

Would most who have played the games I spoke of(mainly ESP II and Futari) agree with this assessment?

galuda 2 is on par with galuda 1 in terms of difficulty for the first three stages.

what makes galuda 2 harder is the extra shinsessikirararali mode which is needed for serious scoring because it keeps randomly spawning bullets.

i never liked this aspect of it but if you can get to friendly terms with teh scoring then you have a very high quality game to look forward to.
galuda 2 is nowhere near as much of a kick in the balls as DOJ is tho. (maybe towards the last stage/s)

the mushihimesama games are much more different from eachother than teh galudas so its unfair to say which port is most anticipated, mushi futari is already a hugeley sucessful game tho so im sure that port will be very popular.

the thing that annoys me most about galuda is that the overmode "levelling up" completely resets on a death. I don't know if that entire mechanic found its way into galuda 2 or if it's been fixed or what.

Fingers crossed for that and ketsui...

I think you misunderstod the genre a bit :P I just can't see how removing the ability to creditfeed is bad in any way.

Because when you pay the $$ for a home release its your right to coinfeed :) I'd like access to all the stages early, it doesn't kill the game in the slightest. I typically spend some time coinfeeding early on, then decide if i want to try for survival or improving my personal hiscore. It has nothing to do with misunderstanding the genre, some people just aren't into the 1cc culture.

i think what's required is encouragement to 1cc that's not removing the ability to creditfeed. i guess in terms of an xbox release then achievements are quite good for that, or some good ending that you only see if you 1cc. removing credit feeding entirely will only piss some people off...

The leveling up of the overmode stays even when you die in ESPGALUDA II.

I suck as much as the next man, but I still fail to see the fun in creditfeeding :)

I totaly agree with you that every man has the right to play the game the way he likes it, but I don't get the "have access to all stages" argument. I love the rush of adrenaline when you finally beat a tough boss and get to experience new stage for the first time. It's hard to use creditfeeding for practice in modern shmups since the rank changes making the challenge a diffrent on than it would be if you didn't creditfeed.

Well another Midnight Live 360 Cave special is upon us, just like last year this one is streamed live from Cave Matsuri in Akihabara

http://www.famitsu.com/live/view.html
(again you'll need UG Live plugin for best stream and IE 32bit, I think there should be low quality stream from UStream too)
- test picture starts at 15:00
- actual show starts at 15:30 and finishes around 18:00, Japan time of course

Basically it starts some 10 hours from now, have no idea who will be the participants besides Cave guys, nor if there will be some actual anouncements...well hopefully there'll be one or two 8)

I can't wait to see what they have hidden under the hood. I hope for a DFK announcement for 360 and something else. DFK for iphone will be for sure just as Akai Katana.
Just a few hours ahead and I am starting to get nervous. I dream of an Ibara's 360 version, please Cave make it happen.

That is all well and good, but what they really need is to announce is Tsukaima Race 2: The Re-Tsukaimaing. Pick your game up Cave.
