Here's a question to anyone who has the full version of Raiden II for PC. How is the music in the real version stored, and what are the filenames/name of the music directory?
The Underdogs version is missing music, but I thought maybe if it's stored the same way as the sounds (just .wavs in the sound folder), then maybe it's possible to use custom music (or the intended music if you have the Raiden II OST).
Raiden II PC version (missing music)
Re: Raiden II PC version (missing music)
Does the original Raiden II CD install anything on your hard drive? I have the game written on CD (not original, but with music) but plays on the fly, no installation is needed. Also, the highscores are reset each time you quit the game. Do these happen on the original CD?

This information is relevant to the Cyberfront/Interplay PC CD-ROM version of Raiden II.
The CD-ROM must use some sort of mixed-mode CD format because the CD audio tracks do not appear when browsing the CD using Windows Explorer, even though using a CD player will allow playing of the music starting with track 2.
I'll also confirm that high scores also do not save when the game is exited.

How about the "no installation" feature? I also wanted to know what's being uninstalled by the uninstall option in the start menu. Is it only the changes you have made in the settings? And one more thing, the language in the menus is English, by the way (I have seen a rip with Japanese menus) - I had the notion that it was distributed in Japan only, so is that false?toaplan_shmupfan wrote:This information is relevant to the Cyberfront/Interplay PC CD-ROM version of Raiden II.

It was distributed in the U.S., published by Interplay. I bought the retail box at a Software Etc. sometime before it became GameStop.

From the README file in the CD:
2. INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
-----------------------
1. Insert the Raiden 2 CD into your CD-ROM drive, and wait
for the autorun screen to appear.
2. If the autorun screen does not appear, double click on the
'My Computer' icon, select your CD-ROM drive, and double click
on 'LOADER.EXE'.
3. Click on the "Install" button.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the install process.
Well, in my case there is no install button, there's a Play button and the game runs immediatelly from the disc. Is this your case too?
