Great movie. Wasnt a bust like I was assuming it was going to be.

Only thing that I didnt like:

The actor playing Pippin in LotR played as "Kyle Reese" wasn't that his name?

Both actors look similar but have different names btw -- it's the same actor who plays Chekov in the new Star Trek film is the same guy who plays Kyle Reese in the new Terminator Salvation film as well. ^_~

Yes, that's what McG did for "Charlies Angels - Full Throttle". I did prefer the theatrical cut of that one though as the girls takes fierce beatings without too much trouble in that, NOT looking forward to even more Terminator beating on people and them surviving it like it's just people slapping them around.

I have to disagree. I thought T3 was quite a decent action flick, actually, even though it didn't bring anything new or revolutionary.
This.

T3 is pretty underrated, and even though its weaknesses (too much comedy, odd casting) were off-putting, it has an interesting slant on the story and a nice dark ending. I consider it to be the film people love to hate, but I think it has some value even if it could have been much much better.

I still haven't seen Salvation, but work colleagues told me it was so poor they wanted to walk out. Their opinions on movies tend to be really rubbish most of the time (they think Jason Statham is a good actor) so I'm staying sensibly clear of this.

There's this very professional fan edit of T3, subtitled "The Coming Storm," which strips away a lot of that goofiness and excess baggage. Definitely a stronger film for it; I highly recommend giving it a watch, as someone who found some enjoyment in the original T3.

Yes, it does!

Isn't it funny these days how it takes Joe public to show Hollywood how they should have edited their own films. Jeez...

There are actually two different Fan Edits available:

I won't link to them (even though the www.fanedit.*** site no longer holds direct download links due to Hollywood thumb screws) as I'm not sure that's allowed by the rules of this forum, but they're easy enough to find using Google.

So far, the Terminator Salvation film has earned $115 million at the American box office and another $100 million worldwide -- bearly enough to break even with it's highly touted $200 million dollar budget to make.

Even Warner Bros' 1989 Batman with Michael Keaton was operating "in the red" due to Jack Nicholson demanding a $50 million dollar fee paid upfront for his portrayal of The Joker character (which WB did so). WB was finally "in the black" after Batman was released on VHS and LD formats. ^_~

are you sure?

Nicholson demanded a $6 million salary and a percentage of the box office, which earned him the $50 million. Batman grossed $411 million in a budget of $48 million, not counting the home video releases...

btw I've seen the movie this tuesday, it was fun and forgettable, I just can't take these sequels seriously since Cameron finished his story in T2

I saw the coming storm yesterday, even with this edit, this movie sucks.
The editor should've taken the part out where the gay stripper says: "talk to the hand". That is so unrealistic. T3 is full of bad acting, bad actors, bad script and bad dialogue. What a waste. I need to go see T4 again to wash the foul taste out of my eyes.

What, he left that in?

That's pretty disappointing considering what it says on the boxes.:?

Maybe the T-Hope one is better.

EDIT: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/3672238 ... _format%5D

The changes here look very good. Will watch and report.

Well apparantly he left out the part where t-850 actualy talks to the hand ( I forgot about that scene) But the gay stripper still says: "talk to the hand". Which is not realistic under these circumstances.

Actualy these are quite funny, but I see how they do not fit a BAD movie such as T3:

finally watched the whole thing last night....it wasnt that bad....but i agree with the earlier comments....the flashbacks from the first 2 movies of the future were much cooler than what was presented in this film.....

that said, it was way better than t3.....watchable....

also....terminators were kinda too easy to kill..... :?

oh well.....coulda been a lot worse

Keep in mind that T4 takes place before the first two movies' future scenes. Let's hope that the Terminators' construction will be enhanced for the next one. Imagine the quality action scenes and special FX in this movie mixed with the unrelenting force of the final T-800's of the Terminators of the first two films. Hopefully, they will rate it 'R' as well. Perhaps then the robots will just kill people directly instead of just tossing them around for laughs.

Somehow there's a bit of Paul Verhoeven dark humour about that scene.

God knows quite why T3 has to have so much comedy though.

To be fair, its believability is on par with T2's biker stubbing out his cigar on a hulking man's chest. The edit does remove Arnold's "comedic" reactions; as in T1 and T2 he just maims the guy without another word. There were a lot of similar edits, particularly to the T-850 but also John, Kate and the TX that reduced the goof-off factor considerably. I read the changelist and watched T3 afterwards, and couldn't believe how much pointless fluff I'd not noticed was gone. Mike Kripke's basement, etc etc... the atmosphere allows a lot more of T1 and T2's dread without all those gags / distractions undermining the movie.

Of course the fact that Arnold is in a strip joint to begin with, or arguably even repeating the same routine for the third time in as many movies is the bigger problem. Can't help that stuff. It's not a great Terminator movie even with the edits, but it's definitely less badly executed.
Skykid wrote:God knows quite why T3 has to have so much comedy though.
Lack of good sense or a proper feel for the series (see James Cameron wisely passing up T2's T3-goofy "smile when you talk to people" scene), I'd say. T3's DVD commentary apparently has the director musing over why the series' time travellers inevitably arrive naked... which makes it sound like he didn't pay the most attention to the first two movies.
