This is most impressive, especially as it was scratch built:

I'm not going to dig it up, but there was a pretty good thread going a while back with links to many great home built shmup models, including many R-Type units...

Here's a link to some cool Wonder Festival 2008 shmup garage kits:

Notice the cool Starship Carrier garage kit on the very last pic at the very bottom is taken from the cool 1997 Starship Troopers film. ^_~

Very nice indeed. Just out of interest, does anyone sell a decent kit of the R-9 ?

Hi,
do you mean this one: http://www.hobbyfan.com/product_info.ph ... ts_id=4859

I ordered 2 of em last year. Still in box and it was never outside of it.
I would sell one for 180,- Euro.

Man, that is gorgeous. One of the most memorable stages of any game right there.

What kind of quality were the prepainted ones? I have the kit, but I painted it myself.

The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

It'll be stuck in my memory for ages, namely since I'm still stuck on it...

And that model is *amazing*.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
