The one that got away

Post by undamned »

So, in keeping with the context of fishes, I've had a Darius PCB search running on ebay for like millions of years. Like enough time for King Fossil to actually BECOME King Fossil. So long that many times I contemplated dropping the search because it's just one more disappointing e-mail in my inbox when I think Darius popped up and its just some random hit. Well this morning, my friends, this morning, something was very different and special, even magical, if you will. I got a legitimate hit for a complete and supposedly working Darius PCB for a starting bid of $9.99. In 6 sweet days I would have justice.

So, tonight, I look to see if any pre-emptive bidding has taking place. Woe and dismay fell upon me when I found Darius had vanished from my watch list. I re-searched in every way I know how (and boy howdy, kids, do I know how). Some dill-weed has snaked my soon-to-be Darius PCB.

So, which one of you weasels was it?

I think in cases like this, you'll want to put down a small starting bid, just to make sure the seller doesn't pull it due to lack of bids. Thats sucks man.

There was one initial bid for $9.99 that morning, actually. I think the only way the auction could have disappeared is if that person retracted their bid (probably in leau of buying it directly from the seller outside of ebay).

Or he was the one who bought it...
If only you contacted the seller ;)

Sorry to hear that your hopes of procuring a rare Darius PCB got dashed, undamned. Hope you find another one soon. ^_~

I spotted another rare Darius II PCB with support for two arcade monitors listed here (it ain't my auction btw):

And do you have a G-Darius PCB yourself? Yeah, I've got a version 1 G-Darius PCB myself. Awesome game for it's time.

Yeah, I saw that Darius II. $300 is pretty cheap compared to what it would command on YAJ, but still more than I want to pay. No G-Darius for me, yet. I've got Taito Memories so I need to just give it a spin and see if I like it.
