It's a given that different systems will play the same MIDI file differently...
But is it also the case that the same MIDI will be played differently on the same system? (Channels are added/subtracted, etc.)
A question on MIDI output

I'm learning composition. It shouldn't matter on anything I make since I know what instruments are used in it...
Thing is, a player is playing an existing MIDI with occasional added/removed instruments (sometimes the instruments disappears mid-song), so it might make it hard(er) to check the results.

Unless you use General MIDI instruments, chances are that your bass drum etc are assigned to a different place/value on another setup/sequencing app/synthesizer.
